A traditional, well run restaurant serving very substantial, tasty food.

We enjoyed our meal here. The waitress was great fun and the Pfifferlingen soup the best ever. the pieces of fillet steak I had as my main course were tender and tasty. I've given 4 stars instead of 5 because the sauce was a little too salty for my taste but others might think I've been harsh. I... read more

Our friends we were meeting from Um picked this restaurant, and it is a winner. I ordered a dish called "Tanners" (already pictured) which had a trio of steak, pork, and turkey medallions in two gravies. I don't remember what everyone ordered, but the pork medallions seemed popular and were an ample portion. Meals came with a Schwabian style salad.

Food was really good. We ordered a goat cheese salad and we were close to licking the plate. For main we had the forel and the spargel and it was really good. The only negative thing was the bad service .. We had to wait for a long time before we get our drinks and the staff was a bit... More

First of all, please be aware of make reservation. After the freundly welcome, just follow the recomendation of the owner and enjoy one of the best kitchen in Ulm. Listen to the river flows slowly next to you. Enjoy also a good red wine of Austria. Ratio quality / price is ok, altough the price is high.

We were fortunate to be given the last table during the busy "office party" season but, despite being so busy, the atmosphere, service and food were good. We both had the duck cooked a perfect pink so had no complaints and would have returned had we been in Ulm for a longer time.

This restaurant is very nice, placed in the historical center nearby the channels in a typical building. Atmosphere is very nice and cosy moreover if you are lucky to be placed next to the window looking at the waterside. Staff is friendly but competent. Cousine is tipical Schwabian with a touch of style but not too expensive. Definitely a good... More

Had dinner on 10 October with a group of about 25 from a conference. I ordered the pumpkin soup – a seasonal specialty – that was excellent. For the main dish I selected from the Swabian portion of the menu –Linsen (lentils) and Spätzle with sausages and bacon. A wonderful combination and huge serving portion. After the soup starter, I... We considered this a lucky find during a business trip to the Ulm area. After walking the Bastei from our hotel along the river to see the Ulm Munter cathedral, we walked on through the Marktplatz into the "Fischer Viertel", the old section of shops and restaurants along the banks of the Blau. After first checking out "Der Wilder Mann"... More

We selected this restaurant because it was recommended by a native of Ulm. Decor is in keeping with the mediaeval neighbourhood's old-fashioned charm. A window seat will get you a view over the gushing Blau river. Food is traditional Swabian, nicely presented and with Mediterranean garnishes - courgette, tomato etc. I'm undecided as to whether that is a good thing... More
