We stopped here on the snowy day after Christmas. The restaurant was full of reservations but the staff was able to fit us in, which was great and why I'm giving them five stars. The restaurant was cozy and warm. The food was delicious and the service was great, especially on a cold and snowy day. Highly recommend this restaurant.... More

We were here with a tour group, This is a very quaint eating establishment. Vintage cow bells hung throughout the eating area. Excellent soup. Shredded pancakes in beef broth with onions. Main course was pork with spatzle. Dessert looked like donuts but filled with apples with whipped cream on the side. Big portions. Excellent local beers. Outside is a working... More

Early evening but still very busy, always a good sign, staff efficient and food good without being a gastronomic experience. Chairs are a bit uncomfortable but that seems to be a feature of outdoor eating in southern Germany.

Maybe since I'm not German, I don't know what the best German food is. I do however know when I find something I like and I liked this place. The meals were good, the prices were fair, the staff was very nice, and they accept credit cards (including AmEx) without the chip European cards have. The exterior and interior remind... More

Fantastic location in old fishermans quarter. Had a really nice pork steak Swabian style fabulous! Good beer and excellent service! The barman was doing the job of 3 brilliantly and deserves a medal.

The weather was not particularly good but we sat outside. There were patio heaters so we were not cold. A really nice location right by the River. The Restaurant was quite busy but even so we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Service was a little impersonal. The food was good, but certainly not exceptional. We thought... More

Don't be deceived by the Tripadvisor decal on the door. What a disappointment. Admittedly it was the day after Boxing Day but if you're open, at least provide a decent service. The goose we ordered was so dry we're convinced it had originally been cooked for Christmas Eve, three days before. To the management's credit, they did not charge for... More

Nice restaurant/beer drinking establishment, rather nicely located by the canal in the fisherman district. The food is pretty standard Schwabian fare, but no complaints!

Based on the reviews we had read on Trip Advisor, we were really looking forward to this restaurant. I'll never know whether we caught them on an off day or it was really this bad, but I certainly couldn't recommend it based on our experience. I had the special, a hog hock. It was dried out, overcooked and very tough.... More

We had a last minute stay over in Ulm whilst driving back from Austria to the UK so sadly it was a flying visit. We felt very fortunate when we came across der Lochmuhle which is a stunning traditional style restaurant with a great outdoor seating area which even looked inviting in the middle of winter although we did not...
