Once there was a monastry of the so called "Barfüßer" monks. Since 1990 there is the Barfüßer craft brewery at almost the same place in Ulm. Even if you will not meet any monks anymore, you can come to hear imposing voices, giving songs from the 80ies, 90ies, and from today via the every tuesday karaoke evenings. Alternatively guests can also enjoy the delicious Barfüßer beer in the snuggery or at the terrace amid the inner-city of Ulm.

Good food, good beer, good price!

We wanted to have a schnitzel wiener art mit pommes (fries) and it was good :) for € 9,90 you'll have it. It's like a cafe where they serve great food. They also brew beer.....yummy :) we tried the Barfusser Rotgold , very good, half a liter for €3,50 what a great price. The small salat is still... read more

The make their own beer and if you are in Ulm it's really suggested to try. Food is also good and it's not pricey at all. So it's definitely a must in this city. When I am there for a week, usually I spend a good beer in this place.

Good ambience! The place is large but still maintains its charm and flair. The Restaurant is on two levels and the upper level has three large halls which are connected together! Service is good! helpful and motivated young staff. All age groups are seen in this place! A lively place!

We were a group of 7 (3 adults, 4 kids) and had a fantastic meal here. Great for kids because it was loud already. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty - very large portions, especially for the low price point.

This was my first visit to the Barfuesser and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be. It is real fun to order a barrel of beer if you are in a group. You can pour this yourself as needed. The service at some stage could maybe have been a bit faster, and I considered ordering more than one... More

I had been here and I will come back: - friendly and very pretty service - very nice interior, you can pick between different areas which each looks different and has a different charm. - food is, whatever you pick, decent. Some is actually almost excellent - which for sure the beer is. During that evening, we made our way... More

The Barfüsser in Ulm is some kind of anchor to me. Even though I'm not really living in Ulm anymore, I always ahve to go there every time I'm home. Basically it didn't change much in the last years, and I like it. The food is always of the same good quality and the beer is always delicious. And the... More

These guys make one of the best roast pig-legs. Just ask for a Haxe (pronounced Hackser). Yjey make their own beer too - well worth a look.
