Description: Once there was a monastry of the so called "Barfüßer" monks. Since 1990 there is the Barfüßer craft brewery at almost the same place in Ulm. Even if you will not meet any monks anymore, you can come to hear imposing voices, giving songs from the 80ies, 90ies, and from today via the every tuesday karaoke evenings. Alternatively guests can also enjoy the delicious Barfüßer beer in the snuggery or at the terrace amid the inner-city of Ulm.

Went there while I was on a business trip in Ulm. The atmosphere was nice, and the waiters were cool and fast. We bought the large barrel of beer and kept drinking till it was empty. I ordered a German traditional plate that was very similar to ravioli. Overall, it was a good experience and the place is highly recommended.

This was a great accidental find for us. We were made very welcome by both the staff and other customers. We tried Swabian noodles for the first time, which were excellent and enjoyed a few glasses of local beer.

Went thier with a larger group of colleagues. Tables had been reserved, otherwise there would not be enough space. nice selcetion of own beers, different flavours. Food is basic and location really not high end. But this was exactly we were looking for. Acoustic is difficult, it was quite load as it was packed and so discussions were a bit... More

Own beer was terrific, food was OK. Good place to visit if you are after some good beer, skip it if you are up to haute cuisine.

In this place, you have to see the upper floor because it's spectacular! We sat down for a quick dinner and beer. The service was fast and the food above expectations. However, it should be judged by the beer primarily, and this is where it did not compare too well to other breweries in Germany. The beer just wasn't up... More

We were not yet tired of good sausages , Wiener schnitzel schweinbratten, and pork knuckle (?...that joint of roast pork with a super crispy cracklin' skin...) so we went with local friends ... From Konigsbronn..., to this fun and very good restaurant in the old town part of Ulm , near their Christmas market. We dined upstairs with a view... More

Went with some frequent travellers to the area but this was my first visit. The head of the table insisted on many sharing many of the sausage choices as well as the pork knuckle. All of it was just wonderful. Really enjoyed the meal. Sampled most of the beer offerings starting lighter and moving through the menu. The atmosphere was... More

This is the best beer place in Ulm and the Barfusser Blonde is what Bavarian beer should taste like. Try the Schweinbraten or Haxen to complement your beer ecstasy.
