Visited in may 2013 in the late afternoon. Quite close to the main drag of Stuttgart. Nice wooden belle epoque interior. Sparsely crowded. Quite quick and friendly efficient staff. Decent menu card with various information about brewing, historical facts etc. 3.50 Euro for a 40cl Helles, 3.80 Euro for a Schwarzbier. Only paid 4 Euros for both for some reason.

I went with a group to Sophie's for dinner, and it was terrific. The beer was very good; it is hard to go wrong with freshly brewed beer, but they did an excellent job with the dominant German beer styles. The food was also very good; I had a schnitzel with hot sauce, and it was just as good as... More

This place is great for meeting up with friends for a pitcher or two of their house-brewed Hefeweizen and Flammekuchen (large pizza-like flat bread) to share! They have good service and a great bar atmosphere with music, low lighting, and steel tanks (that that use to brew their beer) out in the open. My friends and I were there for... More

Right in the city center, this restaurant serves homemade beer, which is quite tasty, and typical german dishes (and also other nationalities). Their portions are big and the price is in accordance to it. Good idea to go for a happy hour.

A large hall of mostly empty tables. Fast service. We had lunch, but the food was... rather bland and not that good. Schnitzel pounded super thin, a lot of breading, not a lot of meat and not much flavor. Beers were alright - The regular German stuff. But lunch is a cheap way to eat here.

Sophie's is not far from the main walking street, only about a block away from the Paulaner. Not to difficult to find. Brew several beers in house, including a Helles (bright beer), Schwarz (black beer), and certain seasonal offerings. Pleasant, airy place with lots of windows, on the second floor of a building. Fairly extensive menu, mostly typical German offerings,... More

Our hotel had given us several ideas for hotels and Sophie's was one of them. It is in the heart of Stuttgart at Marienstrasse 28. However, that really isn't where it is. 28 Marienstrasse is a grocery store. Sophie's is around the corner and you enter via a side door and walk up. They have an excellent menu, authentic Bavarian... More

On the first floor of the building you can eat & drink, Decoration is very typical and if guests are German you get the real feel and taste of Germany. Food for kids is very cheap ! It is not a gastronomic restaurant but nice atmosphere and waiters are very friendly! If you go there with kids I would recommend... More

This place is a little bit away from Schlossplatz. That is a good thing because the prices are a little lower. I had a giant pork chop with potatoes and a dark beer. Both were great. There were a bunch of locals eating dinner with their families which to me is a good sign that I picked the right place... More
