It's one of the places where you can enjoy a very good food in a relaxing atomspher. Service was excellent.
There were ten of us, after a tiring meeting day. We started with the beers and wines, just to be prepared to the delicious Swabian meals. The meat is very good and tasty, and that salad buffet makes a difference.
We go to Ochsen Willis a few Times per year. The salad bar (yes salad bar) is always very fresh and includes a delicious authentic German potato salad. I LOVE the pork shoulder which is melt in your mouth tender with crispy crackling. That comes with the salad and is a smaller portion. At certain times of the year you... More
No messing around here: huge portions of traditional Swabian food and good beer selection. Go with an empty stomach if you can't bear the thought of not finishing your dish. Really tasty but not something you can eat every night! Very good location right in the centre, short walk from Hbf.
Went here my first night in Stuttgart and was very happy with my choice. I got the Beef from the Spit, which came with baked potatoes. It was very good. I also started with a local soup (forget the name). The staff was very willing to use English with me and they have an English version of the menu. I... More
My boyfriend's German family have been coming here for years and took me here one night. Great atmosphere, great food, friendly staff. The pork knuckle was delicious as was the duck with mushroom sauce! The portions were massive so we were properly stuffed afterwards!
We wanted to try some Swabian food while in Stuttgart and this restaurant did not disappoint. The atmosphere is great, service quick and friendly and food good. The serving sizes are quite large and the pieces very reasonable.
Not sure why this restaurant is even considered in the top 15. The restaurant is an “American Diner” at best with a cheesy salad bar that was not included. I ordered their house special rump steak that was undercooked, bland, and not appealing at all. The kids menu was also very unimaginative with fish and chips and normal pub fare.
The restaurant is located right in the City centre and we went there, a group of four on a Friday night. Although it looks small from the outside, it's actually huge on the inside with plenty of seating. We didn't book but just arrived at probably their busiest time between 7:30 to 8pm and there was a small queue by... More
I went there upon suggestion of some natives. It's a nice location decorated in bavarian style, right in the city center. Service is quick and kind. You should taste the typical shin, the spatzle, and the red beer. Very crowded at evening, you should book to be sure to find a place. I didn't, so I accepted to share the... More
