Probably best Thai in Stuttgart

When you're entering the restaurant or take Peak look from outside it is not inviting but the food and downstairs style pays off. all had been excited with their choice - just missing papaya salad...

OK, Stuttgart is clearly not a place with a strong Asian food scene. Still, eating heavy local German fare just didnt appeal to me. I listened to the concierge of my hotel and ventured to discover Floating Market. Portrait of their Royal Highness as you arrive tells you this is an establishment with/managed by Thais- a great sign- I was... More

I went with a small group, just a party of 5, and several of us got the menu. When the food arrived they had no idea who got what and it took getting the menu back out to figure it out! The dish described was not what was brought to me. Several of us got vegetarian menus even though we... More

Had dinner here with my wife. Beautiful decor and good service. friendly staff. The food is mediocre. do not get the fish cakes, they are not freshly made and are just deep fried frozen version. The vegetable fritters are poor- the batter lacks any flavour. We had curries and they both lacked flavour and seasoning. Overall the food was just... More

Asian cuisine in Germany is a little unfortunate. The flavors are dulled down for the German palate (I'm Asian by the way) so it's hard to find something authentic. However,Floating Market has many decent Thai dishes and the ambiance is charming. The staff is very nice and the restaurant is split on three floors so it's fairly quiet. Perfect place... More

situated on Stuttgart's "in-street", always handy for a nice and exotic dinner for 2, great cocktails, interesting and rather authentic food. but state clearly when you prefer "thai heat" instead.

I am Asian and coming from Vancouver where there are a lot of Thai restaurants, the food is terrible. It completely lacks flavour and is not spicy at all. This is not even close to authentic Thai food. The ingredients were good and fresh though. The ambience is very nice but that's about it.

Loved the food! We went here on recommendation-and it was a great decision. It seems like it is right in the heart of the business district. The table next to us were travelers as well and they said they come to Stuttgart every year for business meetings and always return to this place. The food is authentic Thai. And the... More

I was very impressed with both the food and the decor. It's proximity to downtown Stuttgart makes the Floating Market a great place to grab a bite before going out for drinks. As others have said, service can take some time but hey, it's Europe! On a Friday or Saturday night, its a really good idea to make a reservation!

I love the Floating Market for it's atmosphere and food. Everything was beautifully presented, making us feel like dignitaries. We tried a lot of different dishes and shared everything. The wait stafff was excellent with regard to service. However, we were brand new in Germany and weren't sure about tipping. We asked and were led to believe we needed to... More
