A large group of us went to this place for dinner. The food was ok, nothing special. Most of the food was WAY too oily or greasy (different dishes were swimming in it). Upset the stomach's of a couple of our friends. Typical German food, pretty good size portions. The breaded dishes were a little dry. The shrimp pasta was... More

It's not pretentious as you don't expect fine dining. The food is good and the ambiance has character... which makes it great. The couple who runs it are very friendly. Make sure you're hungry before going as the servings are big. I hope they maintain the place as it is. It's home and very personal. Highly recommended.

It's family owned, friendly, English speaking and have English menus. The service was great but the food is just average. The shrimp pasta special on Thurday and Friday is good but very pricey. The schnitzel was just "ok" nothing to get excited about. The portions are way to big and you will always have left overs, not necessarily a bad... More

The staff were very nice, but no one from our group was impressed with the food, the restaurant or the prices. The restaurant itself is rather dingy looking and cluttered with stuff. Not a nice setting. The food was just 'ok' and between the people in our group we ordered quite a variety of food. I have to mention that... More

We just ate here on Sun Mar 3rd 2013 and I can tell you the food and hosting was outstanding. From the minute we arrived until we left every need was catered to in a friendly family style. There were 9 of us in the group and we ordered almost a third of the menu choices and each selection was... More

At the time of this review, this was listed as #2 of 900 restaurants in Stuttgart. I don't think it's worthy of that title. (To be fair, I haven't eaten at anywhere close to the 900 restaurants, but I can be fairly confident that this isn't the second best.) Now, don't get me wrong, the food was good. The atmosphere... This place USED to be incredible! The food was excellent and the portions were huge... Now, the food is 'ok' at best and the portions keep getting smaller and smaller but the price is steadily going up... For example, the Shrimp Spaghetti they are famous for is a much smaller version and the price is now 15.80 Euro!! There is... More

The waitress was super nice & attentive and she speaks fluent English. Food was good, the tomato soup with gin was really rich and yummy, Tiramisu christmas version (without the liquor) was also very nice. My beef steak was also good. Although their decoration was a bit unusual for a restaurant and more like a homey antique store (even children's... More

I don't know why this place is ranked so high. They serve basic Schwaben food, but nothing special. The location is not convenient. Very far from any train stations and there is no parking on site. The interior of the restraint is odd too, and it’s not so romantic. The only good thing is the restaurant owner speaks English really... More

I was a little surprised to read that this restaurant is ranked number one in Stuttgart... this is a nice cozy place in a side street, but I would not recommend it for a big party, or if you have a guest to take out! The food is good and the portions are big, prices are reasonable, and the look... More
