Authentic dining experience in the aldstadt, Heidelberg. Easy to find and easily one of the best meals I had in Germany, so much so I had to come back a second time. We had the schnitzel salad special which was huge and so reasonable in price, couple that with the beer ( i think there's one type only which is... More

This restaurant has excellent schnitzel (many varieties) of course, but also great salads and local vegetables. It has a charming atmosphere - geumuetlich (cozy) as they say here. You sit at tables together with others and plenty of memorabilia, items of historical interest, etc., line the walls. There is also a small Biergarten in the back. Of the restaurants serving... More

Well worth a visit but be prepared to share a table and not the most comfortable seating. Food and service great.

Like any good hole in the ground, what this place lacked in windows it made up for in food. Welcome to flavor town! I got the Gorgonzola schnitzel and would have definitely fought anyone who tried to take it away. Heck I would have taken on a group of people. I'm seriously considering leaving my family to move in to... More

Tiny little place with just a few tables. I came by myself and the owner directed me to sit anywhere. It was a bit awkward joining in at someone's table but I kept to myself and couldn't understand the conversations in German anyway. Had wienerschnitzel the first night and it was glorious. The savoy cabbage was excellent and the potatoes... More

After reading so many good comments on tripadvisor, we decided to try this place! Service was kind and efficient; wines and beers were good; food was great... the only little improvement could be putting less dressing in the salads. Certainly would be back if ever returning to Heidelberg!

My family of 5, including a two year old, traveled to Heidelberg in August of 2013. I have a hard time making reservations as I tend to want to be spontaneous on trips and just stumble on places to try. That being said, I was having a hard time finding where I wanted to eat one night so I searched... More

Food is home made. Very small place and perhaps that is why the food is so well prepared. We had garlic schnitzel, schnitzel la mission and Wiener schnitzel... All great. They just have one kind of beer, have is super. Very happy. BTW. The place is in a off street you will no find it if you don't look for... More
