We walked in rain to look for this restaurant based on TA reveiws. So glad we found it as its ambiance, food, and service were perfectly matched for a pleasant meal, not mentioning it's reasonable price. Tried their traditional schnitzel, bread soup, and pork knuckle with beer and it was one of the best meals we've had in Germany.

This restaurant is a hidden gem from the main shopping area of Heidelberg. The service was fantastic and the location great. It felt like a cosy home and the food was great German home cooking. I had the Garlic Schnitzel which would have been a passion killer if it wasn't for my girlfriend having the same. The crowd were a... More

Everything about this place was great. The moment we walked in, the servers/bartenders were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, the atmosphere and decor were great, the beer was good. Would highly recommend.

We wanted to find a restaurant to take friends to for a birthday. Our first visit to Heidelberg, and we found this restaurant job the old town. Had a drink initially, to see how the atmosphere was, and the food and service. It was fab! Communal dining wasn't really our idea of fun, but here, it was so good. The... More

This restaurant is very small and quaint with tons of old world charm. We went a bit early to avoid the crowds and got seated right away. I ordered the schnitzel and my husband and the sausage plate and we were both very happy. The food came quickly and the waiter was very friendly. The price was very reasonable. I... More

I love the Schnitzelbank!! We go here about once a month and are NEVER disappointed. The food is so full of flavour and quite diverse (as long as you like German food) The staff are wonderful and always so friendly to us. One tip is to make a booking, it's a small quaint little spot so if you don't reserve... More

Don't listen to the naysayers on this board. This is a very quaint, original restaurant with very good German food. If you think that every good restaurant should have white tablecloths and a maître d' then don't bother coming.. You won't be missed by the charming owner anyhow there are plenty of other patrons that will be queuing for your... More

My girlfriend and I visited Schnitzelbank again recently and it is definitely one of my favourite restaurants ever. This time I had the Haxe (a massive pork shank) and it was delicious. The service is lovely and the atmosphere is cosy. The food is great value for money. Will definitely return when I am next in Heidelberg.

First of all the food here is amazing, I had the turkey schnitzel with a mushroom sauce and it was perfect. My husband had the peppersteak, which was also amazing. We arrived at around 9 pm on a Saturday night with no reservations. It was busy but we were seated at a communal table with 2 other couples in less... More
