We ate here on a Sunday and we had lunch outside the restaurant since there was a pretty nice weather. This restaurant is located in the middle of the market square of Freiburg near this lovely huge cathedral and therefore is full of tourists. However it doesn't lack of the typical German look. Food was delicious, not too expensive and... More

It was a sunny day and we were seated at a table outside right opposite the Cathedral. Friendly service. Hearty German dishes. Generous portions. Nicely prepared and fresh. Can get pricey if you get carried away with drinks, but hard to resist the great beer and tasty regional white wines. Very pleasant and worth a stop for a taste German... More

The location is outstanding and this makes it ideal for tourists of course (the menu is available in different languages), but I also noticed lots of locals visiting the place. Being a brewery, I never tasted wine there although the local "cépage" called Gutedel is very good. However the beer is great and the quality of the food on a... More

Ganter Brauereiausschank is one of the very best choices to have a terrific german beer in Freiburg! Absolutely delicious. The food is very taste, the portion is good and the price is fair. The environment is cosy and warmth, staff is friendly and helpful. Resuming, it is for sure, a very good place to drink and eat well in town.

The outdoor cafe is in the Freiburg square/market, facing the cathedral. The food was wonderful - our group had the schwienschnitzel, schweinshaxe, landbratwurst, weisswurste, and Ganters Dreierlei - the portions were all massive! To add to the experience, we were treated to seeing the horse drawn carriage delivering the local beer to the restaurant as well as listening to, we... More

Unfortunately this Restaurant probably has enough guests because of its convenient location, therefore they do not need to make an effort. The staff is very rude and we waited more than one hour for our food. They did not apologize and when we asked for salt and pepper it seemed like we were asking for a pot of gold. The... More
