We just had lunch there. I had the wurstsalat and Scott had the special which was some kind of pork meat patties with spices and herbs, potato and salad. The food was very good. The beer was their own kind, as is the way of German restaurants, and was an unfiltered pilsner, I think. It was very light and delicious... More

I am not a passionate beer drinker, however at Hausbrauerei Feierling I drank the best beer I have ever tasted. You can enjoy the fresh drink sitting right next to the brewing copper, which makes the location unique and rustique. My friends and I had a wonderful time, the service was fast and excellent and a small snack for lunch... More

They have an English menu that also has translations in Spanish, French, Italian and Dutch. As someone who speaks smattering of all of those languages, I laughed because the more you read the descriptions available in the other languages, the more information you got about what was in the meal. Whoever translated this clearly wasn't too comfortable in English-- or... More

My son and I ate and drank there twice. Very good German food and beer. I have been to Germany many times and the food, beer and overall experience ranks right up there with other restaurant/breweries I have been to. My grandmother was German and their traditional dishes reminded me of her cooking...really! My son and I had a great... More

It was the first time a saw a huge beer garden like this. It is nice place to sit and spend time while drinking delicious beer. I would like to visit Freiburg again only for this place.

We visited in early August when temperatures were 33+. The beer garden was a oasis after walking round the hot streets. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Beer was the best we tasted in Freiburg with average prices. Wine was sold in large 250 ml measures and again was good quality and well priced. We didnt eat a lot here,... More

I've got to be honest: this place gets more attention and clearly more visitors, but I think Martins Brau brews the superior beer. We didn't eat when visiting Fierling, but the food looked pretty mediocre. The beer garden is always slammed, at least in the summer, and this is far from a relaxing place to drink a cold brew. The... More

This place is about beer and food is an afterthought. My wife and I both ordered the sausage salad, expecting to get a salad with sausage, not realising that in Germany, it is a salad of sliced sausage meat with some pickles and dressing. We have since seen this in a lot of beer gardens. Go for the beer, not... More
