Ruhiger Ort, hervoragende Küche und gut sortierter Weinkeller

We were looking for a new place to try and knew we had to reserve the place. It wa sno issue in the week to call by 2pm and get a table for 2 at night. WE chose the surprise menue, 3 courses, which were filling enough, and had an extraordinary entree and desert. we also loved the vine cellar... read more

Decided to try since #1 top restaurant in Freiburg per TA. Well deserved. Thought I would have the 5 course Chef's surprise. The waitress told me 90% of patrons order the surprise. 3 starter plates, main course and dessert (although you can mix it however you want). Also ordered the paired-wines. Every course was delicious and well spaced out. The... More

Restaurant : Wolfshole Freiburg. Voted No 1 on TA. Ambience : From the outside, it looked like a very traditional and typical German tavern in a half timbered house. Inside it was modern, airy and bright with white starched linens. Service : Very prompt and professional but not totally proficient with the menu and its recommendations. Food : We had... More

We had dinner here to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary, and we were very glad we did. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the service was highly efficient, friendly but not overfamiliar. Our German is not good but we like to try and the staff made us feel as if we were fluent! The restaurant is... More

Nice restaurant for a special dinner in the Old Town. Amazing, creative cuisine of the highest level. Loved the Orange and Pomelo dessert. Portions are rather small and a little overpriced, but I will definitely go again when I visit Freiburg.

I could fill pages with a review of this top-notch restaurant but will keep this short ! We were offered the 4 course Gang Menu with the option for a wine for each course ... and it was worth every euro ! Delightful dishes and excellent wines... the Chef outdid himself ! ... obviously this restaurant warrants a Michelin Star.... More

Definitely a gourmet experience in comfortable and elegant surroundings with a high standard of service. The Maitre d' spoke Italian and English well, and was eager to help with the ample selection of local and foreign wines. One can choose a la carte meals or from their less expensive surprise menus. We decided to go for the a la carte... More

Nothing to fault here - thoughtful and well-prepared dishes with some real touches of flair here and there but not in a way that detracts from the quality of the food. Outside, tables overlook one of Freiburg's more charming street scenes. Inside, the room balances cosy and charming - remaining light and airy despite the grey leather and wood panelling.... More

We ate at Wolfshohle on June 25th, 2 couples. We had a table outside, the street is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. the food was extra ordinary, not only that the plates and the serving looks amazing it is also very tasty (we took the 4 course surprise menu offered by the chef). The service was professional and excellent... More

Had lunch here, which was very good, top notch in fact. As was the service. The only downside is the price. I paid 50 euros for soup, a main course (fish and asparagus risotto) and an espresso. Would have given 5 stars, but I'm not sure if the price level is realistic. Would still recommend though!
