Not fancy. Not elegant. Just a family-run restaurant in the midst of the vineyards in the hills above Baden-Baden serving excellent local (Badische) cuisine. If you want Badische Fine dining....Zum Alde Gott is the only place to go to. The service is friendly and the kitchen is willing to listen to your wishes. Great food, great local wines, great view, great friendly service....worth the drive.

Tried this restaurant several times, always taken there by business colleagues. In different years I was less or more happy with food, but this year it was really superb, I had as a main course ox cheeks, and all my colleagues were very happy with their choices. Cozy atmosphere helps a lot and a the lady that owns the place... More

Our hotel was nearby so we stumbled upon this restaurant while driving. We were the only diners when we walked and while the owners speak mostly German, they were extremely accomodating to us. The chef even came out and spoke to us for a while, he was very entertaining. It wasn't a cheap meal, but the food was delicious and... More

Found this on trip advisor : we were looking for a spot out of the town centre, something nestled in nature and this came up so off we headed by car... 5km outside Baden Baden. If you are doing the drive and plan to drink a few glasses be careful as the road back is dark and winding. I was... More

Staying in Baden Baden for a few days and had some excellent meals there, but fancied eating outside the town so on the advice of Trip Advisor and confirmed by the receptionist at our hotel - The Dorint , decided to try Zum Alde Gott. 15 minute drive outside BB and set amongst hills covered in vines this is a homely... Came upon this restaurant as we did not want to walk far from our hotel & trip advisor recommended. Lovely location with views of the vines & sunset. This restaurant is expensive but well worth it. My husband had lobster starter - superb and I had lobster lasagna with a difference. The flavours were great washed down with local Riesling.... More

What a surprise to find this fantastic restaurant in Neuweier. Lovely setting overlooking the vineyards. The goose liver is their speciality which was accompanied by a lovely bottle of local Reisling. The chicken was divine as well as the fish dish with mash, very fresh and cooked astoundingly well. The service could not have been any more attentive. A definite... More

my wife and I enjoyed in this restaurant where we found a warm welcome from the owners and we found the perfect service from them, either for food do not ask for a delight and I guess I did not eat their tastiest kitchen before, and will repeat visit them on my next trip to Baden-Baden.
