we made a reservation to dine here based on Rick Steves tour book recommendation. We went on a night that the World Cup game was going on and the German team was playing. That left us with a much more quiet atmosphere and quick services. The dishes were truly globally influenced, from Tapa style appetizer, to good pasta and fishes.... More

The way this restaurant is a little bit off the beaten path, tucked into a courtyard, makes it feel special; you walk in and could be in the 15th century with its cave-like walls. We ate there two nights in a row because we loved it so much--really delicious "grandmother style" cooking. Our server was super-friendly and eager to give... More

Recommended by where we were staying - the Hotel Am Markt (and about 1 minute from there). Great atmosphere, fantastic food, very friendly service. Love the way it's hidden away and partially underground.. must be fantastic on a cold night as very cosy inside. Try the Flammkuchen for a shared starter (we had the 'Baldreit' which had pear and Roquefort)... More

This is a really "old world" style restaurant but the menu did not inspire us and the food choices we made were both disappointing. Go for the atmosphere but do not expect well prepared food.

Service and atmosphere very nice at this place. Courteous and welcoming. Presentation of the food quite nice, haute cuisine even. Unfortunately each of the three dishes we ordered were very salty and over spiced. Our desert, flambeaued apple tart, was equally disappointing. Admittedly, I'm not a connoisseur of Blackforest cuisine. But I do know good food. And this wasn't it.... More

This place was recommended to us by our hotel (hotel am markt). What a great find, our best meal in Baden Baden by far. We had the flammkuchen with roquefort cheese and pear to start and it was delicious. I had the main of sausage with cabbage and my friend had a potato dish off the specials board. Both were... More

We found this restaurant in a Rick Steve's guidebook. If you don't know about it, it would be really hard to find--- you won't stumble across it. That being said, it's a great restaurant, cozy and reasonable with good food. Try the "flammkuchen"-- German pizza. I had the one with roquefort cheese and pear (among other things). It was really... The food, service and ambience were great. We ate in the courtyard on a warm July evening. Need to book as it was full, though there were tables inside. Ate here on the night after dining at the number 1 restaurant and, though more expensive, a much more enjoyable experience. My wife is vegetarian and had no problem with the... More

Our receptionist at Hotel am Markt recommended this as a good place to have dinner and we were very pleased with our evening spent in the small interior courtyard restaurant. The food was excellent as was their service. The prices were realistic. It is not easy to find but well worth an effort to locate this little gem.

A little difficult to find in a backyard but worth the effort. A cosy affair, offering excellent regional food accompanied by a large range of beers and wines. Booking is recommended on weekends.
