Excellent food, if you've time to wait

Slow doesn't begin to describe the service in this restaurant. A pity because the food is delicious: we were a group of four and had a variety of dishes, all of which were excellent. We booked a table for dinner on Saturday night. The quickest way to get there is up a steep flight of steps - much to my partner's chagrin - but it's a homely restaurant in an interesting old building which is also a hotel. I had the seasonal asparagus soup which was very nice but if you don't like large... More

I loved the food of the restaurant and the atmosphere was also very nice! The service was a little slow. All in all we enjoyed our evening.

I really enjoyed our lunch stop at this lovely homely restaurant in Baden Baden. The warm welcome we received was encouraging, but the food was surprisingly good. Really authentic, huge portions and totally delicious - my own particular dish (the confit goose) was one of the best dishes I had on our 7 day trip! I would love to go... More

The food was good, the meat cooked correctly (if a little on the well done side) and a good size portion. If anything the accompaniments were too many and the seasoning a little salty. The service was friendly, but there were only 2 people taking care of around 20 tables, so it was a little slow at times. When we... More

What a great place this is - well worth the walk up the hill. Family recipes, local fare and ingredients, plus lovely service make for a wonderful dining experience. I ate goose for the first time ever and it was an epiphany! I only wish I had room for dessert as they too looked excellent, I just couldn't fit another... More

After a long day of traveling, we had a perfect meal at Rathausgloeckel. The chanterelle mushroom salad was to die for and the lamb was out of this world. The waitress asked a few questions about our wine tastes and the chosen wine was a perfect supplement to the meal. Did I say "perfect"?

My husband studied the dinner menu outside of this restaurant every time we walked by which was several times a day as we stayed around the corner in the Hotel Am Markt. We ate here on the upstairs outdoor deck on our last night in Baden-Baden and it was a delicious and enjoyable meal. The mixed green salad had shredded... More
