Good value mountain restaurant

On the chalet staff's night off ,we had a very enjoyable meal at L'Arolay. It had a good value set menu which included wine and you had a lot of choice. We can highly recommend the Braserade..it was like a mini barbeque and the beef was delicious as were the sauces.

Went there for lunch with a bunch of friends. Typical chalet with great outdoor eating area. Placed in beautiful Le Fornet village. Typical food including, fondue, raclette, tartiflette, grilled meat. Really enjoyed it after a great morning skiing trip from Tignes.

Have been to L'Arolay many times over the years and it is always a treat. Very nice menu and an interesting wine list. I can truly recommend the braserade! If you are not staying in Le Fornet, this restaurant is worth a detour. Booking is essential.

Typical Savoyarde food with great Fondue, Raclette etc and really nice atmosphere - the set price 3 course menu including ad lib house wine is very good value

We have eaten here a number of times over many years, quite puzzled by some of the negative reviews we've never had anything other than great food and great service. Service was efficient and relaxed, the food was excellent I had the burger with home made chips and the rest of the party the tartiflette (which looked amazing and by... More

Was really excited about going for lunch here as so many Val regulars love it and we were being treated so lots to look forward to. The sunny terrace was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the mountains, but it took so long to be offered a drink or menu, and we were thirsty after 4 hrs skiing !... More

We went today for my Mum's bday lunch, as we went last year and it was really nice, and I went frequently during my season a few years back. I asked for an omelette as wasn't that hungry and apparently 'chef' said no - so I had to have something off of the menu. Fair enough, no probs there. But... More

Tasty food, attractive menu deal - 3 courses and cheap vin de table for 40 euros. I had the steak cooked in sauce which was tender and filling, but the green salad never arrived. Waitresses were good at refilling wine and water bottles. But the main thing you have to be aware of is you will end up smelling of... More

We visited L'Arolay for a drink last year but never made it for dinner so it was top of our list to try out this year after hearing good reviews and it went right up there into one of our top three favourite meals. We had the beef fondue and it was amazing, lots of food and the choice of... More

after readIng the last few reviews we went with some trepidation. However we had one of the best nights ever. We were a group of twelve and they fitted us in graciously. Super friendly service. Great value set menu. Most had the very tender steak with fresh bearnaise sauce .would definitely recommend.
