I had lunch in L'Arolay multiple times in early January, and every time I was impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food served up. Their menu is extensive and includes many Haute Savoie specialities. I would definitely go back again to keep sampling more dishes! I haven't personally experienced the evening menu offerings, but I have heard they... More

Go and try the amazing Braserase, a unique experience! We were really impressed with the staff's kindness and efficiency. Definitely worth to go for lunch and dinner!

The braserade is a family favourite. Lovely staff the same year after year. Great wine selection and if you're lucky homemade genepi

Advised to go here by someone who knows almost all the restaurants in Val. Food was wonderful but service absolutely atrocious. Not sure if we got a waitress who had not worked there before or if this was standard. Three main courses came at different times and then some really bizarre advice about how to cook on the mini-BBQ, only... More

If you want genuine Savoie cooking and atmosphere this is the place to go. At 39 euros for the set 3 course evening meal with unlimited free wine, it is also excellent value - especially for Val D'Isere. Specialities of the house include fondues, raclettes and mini bar-be-ques on the table so you can cook your own steak. Other reviewers... More

There are almost too many tables in this very established Le Fornet favourite as it can be cramped in some areas. Like others we found that the lack of charm in making a booking (a must) and the waiting staff can be sadly lacking. That said it has a buzzy atmosphere and a varied and decent menu and is enjoyed... Ate here several times this season, with great food every time. However I was disappointed to find English speaking companions treated very rudely by the serving staff. The set menu with wine is exceptional value- just make sure to bring an authentic French speaker to get the most from the bottomless house red!

Seems to be a very authentic and the raclette was incredible (as was the escargot ;). One of the best meals in Val d'isere (though there were many good ones !). The waitstaff was very friendly with us and the atmosphere was charming. We were the first ones to arrive, but soon the place was filled happy diners.

I have dined at this restaurant most years when in Val d'Isere over the last 25 years or so. The service can often be poor but the atmosphere and authentic Savoie food was worth it. However when I tried to book this year I was answered with "sorry fully booked bye" - click. I had several evenings available but did... More
