Not sure why we went back here, but I think that this will be the last time. The atmosphere is probably the best bit about the place. The food is very average and prepared largely in advance given the speed that our starters arrived. The fondue is best to be avoided as the meat given was cheap and of poor... More

We went here quite early in the evening as we had not booked but the restaurant was full in no time, we had the beef fondue which was served with two sauces, chips and salad (more than enough for two people). This restaurant seems to have mixed reviews but we really enjoyed our meal and there was a good selection... More

Dined out here on the chalet hosts night off, Wednesday, which seems to be the standard day off so essential to book (any restaurant) on arrival. We chose La Casserole on recommendation from our chalet hosts and for our liking of the traditional dishes on the extensive menu. Avoided the starter in anticipation that the regionalTartiflette would be a cheese,... More

the ambiance in this restaurant was quite nice, yet the food was the standard fare of a mountain resort. the 'lardons' on my salad had been pre-cooked, so they were cold by the time they reached my plate-which was not so nice.

An evening out in Val D'Isere and a bewildering choice of restaurant. A good selection of traditional French food and a good value menu of the day. Having selected this the food was excellent. I would have awarded a higher overall rating if it had not been for the service. This was far too fast with an apparent desire to... More

We all had a set menu option for 39€ which had selection of mini starters, choice of mains which was plenty of choice and choice of deserts. Very happy with standard and value of food. Nice atmosphere. Service could be little quicker but all very happy overall.

We went there for lunch and had a lovely time. I especially enjoyed the unusual French onion soup which they had added bacon which was a delightful surprise after all everything is better with bacon. I then had steak which was cooked to perfection and beautifully succulent

A group of 9 of us went for a meal on the Chalet girl's night off. The meal was great - I had cheese raclette with potatoes and pork, amazing! Some of the other group had the set menu which looked good and they all said was great especially the duck dish. The waiter was great, very chatty, bringing extra... More

Have not been here for 10 years, wow it has changed. We waited an hour for our wine. Onion soup was awful, never tried one like that before and not going to again. Quite a good steak but everything else was sub-optimal..

We were only staying in Val d'Isere for night but mid September sees Val pretty well closed. We were told by the hotel that there were only two restaurants open on the night we were there, and with La Casserole being only some 100m away we decided to give it a try. Big Mistake. The service was very poor and... More
