We have had a splendid holiday with family in the beautiful city of Lyon. At an evening my son would like to have a dinner at 'Brotteaux', one of the bistrots of Baucuse in Lyon - brasserie de l'est. We were looking forward for a great evening .... but we were very disappointing of the service and the high speed... More

We wanted to sample a Paul Beucule restaurant. Located just minutes from downtown. One is struck by the size of the place: a huge room, The meals were of generous portions, without being over-facing. The service was good considering how busy they were. Good presentation, good side dishes. Price reasonable.

Being recommended by the hotel, we had our dinner there. Main courses were OK. Good presentation, generous portion, good side dishes. Price reasonable. But a badge was found in the Chicken dish. The waiters said it was French practice to show that the chicken was from a good source. It sounds strange and unbelievable. We lost appetite and forgot the... More

I wanted to try one of Paul Bocuse's restaurants while in Lyon, and I picked this one because of the proximity to our hotel. Although I saw the mixed reviews, I wanted to try it for myself. My family was seated in the very back portion of the restaurant. The appetizers came out fairly quickly, and I had a delicious... More

Visited the restaurant on recommendation of the hotel I was staying. The menu offered a good variety of dishes at reasonable prices. The portion of each dish was quite generous. The taste of the dishes varied. My lamb chops were decent but not excellent. My colleagues's Iberian pork resotto was very nice. The so-called Cantonese rice was in no way,... More

Excellent location and very well appointed (especially if you have a passing interest in trains), but the food is formulaic and the sommelier was a youth who barely knew how to pour the wine. For the 2 of us dinner cost €230 for 2 courses a la carte, a glass of champagne as an aperitif and a good quality bottle... More

Expected much more than we got on a recent visit. We did order the set menu, but this does not mean you should not have very good food at a Paul Bocuse Restaurant.(?) What we were served was a "basic" meal that could be prepared in any kitchen by untrained personnel. How hard is it to arrange some smoked salmon... More

Come hungry. Very hungry. Should come as a 'health warning' with the notification that you have a successful reservation at L'EST. The portions are seriously generous, with none of the artful use of space to display the food trend. Rather, mouth watering aromas that fill the evening sky making passers bye stagger with envy. The food is the reason to... More

Had lunch here in what was like an up-market canteen. Tables so close together and waiters rushing around I'm glad I was here for a business lunch and not a nice meal with my wife! I ordered calves veal which came with green beans and mash potato and gravy. It reminded me of school dinners. The desert was much better... More

Loved it! We had to wait a day to get a table here but well worth the wait. The restaurant was full of people and had a lively atmosphere. There is a cute model train running the top perimeter which was pretty cool. I had the duck and my sister had scallops. Both meals were outstanding in preparation and presentation!... More
