Excellent location and very well appointed (especially if you have a passing interest in trains), but the food is formulaic and the sommelier was a youth who barely knew how to pour the wine. For the 2 of us dinner cost €230 for 2 courses a la carte, a glass of champagne as an aperitif and a good quality bottle... More

Expected much more than we got on a recent visit. We did order the set menu, but this does not mean you should not have very good food at a Paul Bocuse Restaurant.(?) What we were served was a "basic" meal that could be prepared in any kitchen by untrained personnel. How hard is it to arrange some smoked salmon... More

Come hungry. Very hungry. Should come as a 'health warning' with the notification that you have a successful reservation at L'EST. The portions are seriously generous, with none of the artful use of space to display the food trend. Rather, mouth watering aromas that fill the evening sky making passers bye stagger with envy. The food is the reason to... More

Had lunch here in what was like an up-market canteen. Tables so close together and waiters rushing around I'm glad I was here for a business lunch and not a nice meal with my wife! I ordered calves veal which came with green beans and mash potato and gravy. It reminded me of school dinners. The desert was much better... More

Loved it! We had to wait a day to get a table here but well worth the wait. The restaurant was full of people and had a lively atmosphere. There is a cute model train running the top perimeter which was pretty cool. I had the duck and my sister had scallops. Both meals were outstanding in preparation and presentation!... More

This place was packed when we arrived on Friday night and we were delighted to get a table. The food was adequate not anything out of the ordinary. My wife ordered salmon which was barely cooked which she found very disappointing.Maybe it's a french way of cooking.Myfood was average. We decided in the interest of fairness to it give a second chance... I dined here with five other colleagues. Several of us ordered the menu of the day. The chicken was mostly bones and dried out. The service was perfunctory. They promised at the start that we could have separate checks, but then produced only a single bill without explanation or willingness to correct. I would not go back again. Items ordered... More

I showed up at this lovely brasserie in Lyon with a large group of fellow Americans, without a reservation. The restaurant was bustling on a weeknight. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the friendly, efficient service and fabulous food. It was expensive, but worth the splurge. I was the only French-speaker in our group, but the servers... We love the little train that circulates above your head around the restaurant in what was previously a railway station. Part of the Bocuse chain, the East is to our taste the nicest overall, quality : price and nice staff to boot. The Ouest (West) is also good but more modern and great to watch the football on large flat... More
