If you are staying near Lyon's Part Dieu train station or in that section of town, this is a nice, tourist/ business dinner friendly restaurant with a very large dining room and a lively atmosphere. It is not similar to the traditional quaint Lyonnaise bouchons that are plentiful in the central part of the city, between the rivers. We had... More

Brasserie L'Est came highly recommended and, was one of the limited amount of restaurants open on a Sunday in October in Lyon. Made early reservations for 7 pm. Found the restaurant easily and were seated right away. The kitchen seemed to be staffed well but the service staff, at arrival, was limited to two servers and a host. Service was... More

Second visit however my first impression was washed away with the less than friendly service. We were a table of three enjoying the cool evening air on their spacious patio when the waiter dropped our menus on the table like we didn't belong. Perhaps it was an act to be like the snooty french waiter, which he played well. He... More

We visited the restaurant last night as a group of six. Low ceilings, very bright lights, therefore quite hot and extremely noisy. The tables were so close together you felt you were sitting in your neighbourhood's lap! Food was good with the exception of the meringues in the vacherin which were too sticky. However service was fairly amateur and the maitre... More

Very, very tasty and super nicely presented. And it is not expensive, especially during luch time. Food is simple but sometimes with surprise or mixed with something you never tasted before. This brasserie is located in the center of Lyon near the river and small fontaine which makes outside terrasse very pleasant during sunny time. Delicious place to eat in... More

We have had a splendid holiday with family in the beautiful city of Lyon. At an evening my son would like to have a dinner at 'Brotteaux', one of the bistrots of Baucuse in Lyon - brasserie de l'est. We were looking forward for a great evening .... but we were very disappointing of the service and the high speed... More

We wanted to sample a Paul Beucule restaurant. Located just minutes from downtown. One is struck by the size of the place: a huge room, The meals were of generous portions, without being over-facing. The service was good considering how busy they were. Good presentation, good side dishes. Price reasonable.

Being recommended by the hotel, we had our dinner there. Main courses were OK. Good presentation, generous portion, good side dishes. Price reasonable. But a badge was found in the Chicken dish. The waiters said it was French practice to show that the chicken was from a good source. It sounds strange and unbelievable. We lost appetite and forgot the... More

I wanted to try one of Paul Bocuse's restaurants while in Lyon, and I picked this one because of the proximity to our hotel. Although I saw the mixed reviews, I wanted to try it for myself. My family was seated in the very back portion of the restaurant. The appetizers came out fairly quickly, and I had a delicious... More

Visited the restaurant on recommendation of the hotel I was staying. The menu offered a good variety of dishes at reasonable prices. The portion of each dish was quite generous. The taste of the dishes varied. My lamb chops were decent but not excellent. My colleagues's Iberian pork resotto was very nice. The so-called Cantonese rice was in no way,... More
