Nice to discover French "gastronnomi" in Lyon. Typical restaurant . Will be back as soon as possible.

Small Bouchon restaurant with friendly service by owner. Busy and on tourist route. Restricted menu but with good selection, Scratchings high in fat just like pork crackling

A wonderful meal at an authentic Bouchon Lyonnais. Everything was delicious. And if you are a rugby lover there is a treat as you go upstairs to the toilets...

A cosy small buchon serving very good to excellent simple traditional fare. Friendly staff who seemed to know all of the clients on a Friday night. Good choice of specials not usually encountered. Only disappointment was the very short wine list of local wines.

We're not fans of offal but we knew we had to try this bouchon, one of Lyon's greats. We booked by phone a few weeks before going to France without any problem, although February is probably not a peak time. While people around tucked into squares of fried tripe and various tube-filled sausages with gusto, we had beautifully tender veal... More

We were here two years ago and couldn't get back in last year- a sign of its popularity. The restaurant is packed and you need to be friendly with your neighbours. The servings are generous. I had a rillette of porc for starters and it was enough for all four of us or as a meal of its own. I... More

Le Garet is something of a self fulfilling prophesy as far as tripadvisor is concerned, most of the Buchons have been doing the same thing for decades so its hard to find any that are truly terrible at doing this style of food.Le Garet is packed all the time, with tourists from France as well as elsewhere due to its... There are so many restaurants in Lyon claiming to be bouchons so a little research is necessary if you want something as authentic as Le Garet. Booking ahead, as we did, is essential. We visited on a freezing, snowy December day and the 'chaleur' was the perfect antidote for the cold weather we left outside for an outstanding couple of... More

We booked this in advance on the advice of our hotel and were very glad we did! By 7.30pm the locals were flooding in and within minutes there wasn't a spare table and were turning people away throughout the evening. They offer a la carte, specials and a set menu and whilst there are a lot of local dishes the... More
