We were a group of five foodies with high expectations to this restaurant. La Mere Brazier met them all. Food was excellent, atmosphere was luxurious, service was impeccable. Our experience was topped when chef Mathieu Viannay joined our table for "le chat gastronomique".

Not sure if you were seated according to how you were dressed or if you didn't speak French, but it certainly felt that way. Unlike the other French diners who were showed to the dining room upstairs, we were seated in a small room on the ground floor with a cafe setting. No white tablecloth and just in front of... More

Excellent quite setting of tables with comfortable chairs. Lunch menu is well worth the experience. Freshness of product and deep tastes. Everything cooked to its perfection. I had a slow cooked piece of calfs meat which was delicious with a nice amount of sauce. The deserts are a picture and a heaven when eat, note there is always a crunch... More

The only restaurant I've ever dined in that would not serve the wine that I ordered because it wasn't sufficiently chilled....merci!!! (and yes, it was finally served to perfection. From appetizers through entrees to dessert...perfection. Presentation coupled with obvious culinary perfection makes this a true special occasion restaurant. Arrived a little early for reservations and there was no bar to... More

Wow. Everything was fantastic. Service was elegant. Food was superb. The Sommelier gave us a great education in wine. (We asked for it.)

An awesome experience, Tartare amuse, Foie Gras and Artichokes, fish course, Veal, cheese course and Grand Marnier Souffle everything was perfect. La Mere Brazier is where France's most famous Chef, Paul Bocuse apprenticed (most famous next to Escoffier). The standards have been upheld, a must do if in the Lyon area.

This is a Michelin-starred restaurant, so we were hoping for an outstanding experience. We had an average experience, not outstanding. We ordered a type of chicken that is cooked inside a huge balloon - I'm not sure what the balloon was made of, but the balloon itself was not edible. So the presentation was striking, as this great balloon was... More

La Mere is lovely restaurant, replete with crisp white table linens and an attentive staff. Our tasting menu gave us the opportunity to sample some of the restaurant's many offerings, and none disappointed. The dessert souffle was a special treat!

A truly great meal. Veal chop for two as the main was the best veal ever. Stylish dining room, great service. Two stars are well deserved.

The restaurant was in an inviting home with different rooms giving it a cozy, intimate feeling. We had the tasting menu in the classic style. It was creative with a beautiful presentation. We especially enjoyed the artichoke starter. The portion sizes seemed inappropriately large for both a meat and fish course. We were impressed when the chef came out to... More
