The three diners all ordered the classic menu at 130 euros. The food was perfect but lacked any originality. I am aware that these are treasured recipes from the original owner and founder of the restaurant but nevertheless some added magic would have helped. That came ironically in all the small interlude dishes. The staff were agreeable without being over-friendly.... More

My friend and I were traveling in Lyon and we booked the table online in advance. Everything's smooth and swift. This is a very cozy Michelin restaurant where no formal dressing is required (I wore jeans actually). We ordered a tasting menu with 3 courses, and ended up with 8 dishes including amuse bouche, pre-dessert, etc. Every course was delicious... More

We ate here recently and it is truly a homage to classic French cuisine. The food was marvellous, impeccably presented and the service first class. We had the Classic Menu which was already pretty filling so not sure we would have managed the tasting menu! It seems a tad critical to say that the food was not overly "exciting" in... More

Went there in may this year. Love the foie gras, Quennelles, veal sweetbread and the souffle. Highly recommended. Very nice gluten free bread.

We ate here on a quiet Tuesday in December, two couples, and had a most enjoyable evening. We had the tasting menu with their selection of matching wines so it was not cheap but it was thoroughly delicious. Highlights were a Risotto of Spelt with fresh grating of white truffle (the smell of the warm truffles alone was worth the... More

I was lucky enough to visit all of these places during the first week of November - Maison Villemanzy, La Garrotte, Mère Brazier, Chez Mounier, L’Orson qui Boit. I feel I can provide good feedback and comparisons of the various places. I dined at Mère Bazier with my father. There are three rooms on the main floor with several tables... More

This is supposedly a michelin 2 star restaurant. I say supposedly because we have dined at 2 and 3 star restaurants throughout France (3 on this trip alone) and this restaurant is not within hailing distance of those in any category. First of the service is somewhat indifferent and lacking the attention to detail that restaurants of this purported rating... More

Eight of us had lunch here on our last day in Lyon. It was so nice to have our own room with such attentive staff. Although the a la carte menu is very expensive we had the 3 course tasting menu at 70 euros a head which also included several other courses. It was excellent value, taking over 3 hours-... More

After hearing about Lyon's restaurants, my wife and I spent a few days there while in France, and we chose La Mere Brazier as the high-end fine-dining experience for our 10th wedding anniversary. (For the other meals, we chose more casual and economical bouchons and bistros.) La Mere Brazier does it right. The food was excellent, and it was served... More

Perfect!!! Wonderful food, wonderful wines & wonderful staff. We enjoyed the wine pairing dinner, highly recommend the experience, 4 hour dinner but what an experience, worth every penny but you'll need a lot of pennies to pay the tab. Worth it!
