We recently went to L'Alexandrin on a weekend trip to Lyon, and can easily see why the restaurant lost its Michelin star. While the quality of the food was decent, the service was so bad and rude that it completely ruined the experience. There were only two servers for the room on a Saturday night and they were outrageously slow... More

Attended as a group of 4 and had the very best of nights. Had the tasting Lyon menu and came away extremely contented and very happy. It would rate as one of the best meals I have ever had. The service was simply brilliant and well synchronised. I believe it is a husband and wife team ably assisted by some... More

Have been coming to Lyon for Bocuse D'or for many years and for once had the experience of trying L'Alexandrin. It was well worth the wait Had the tasting menu which that night featured the Truflle, went all in 5 course menu, also the option was there not to have truffle with every course, so at least you can experience... Visited 22/12/2012 for dinner. 2 adults + 1 child aged 13. We had "Menu Esprit de Lyon" for 60€/each as single meal order is not available for dinner. Everything was absolutely fantastic ... but this is really too much in terms of quantity even though we are used to it with strong French cuisine culture coming from our 2 families.... More

We booked our meal through the Ideal Gourmet website so had paid upfront (€140 for 2). We were greeted with a glass of Champagne and proceeded to enjoy a small bite and 5 soups served in differing shotglasses (the cream of scallop with chorizo was stunning). Only after this did we have our starters! The meal was wonderful (8 courses... More

Before heading to Lyon, we found recommendations on Chowhound for this and other restaurants in Lyon. We ate at six of what were touted as the “best” restaurants and by far L’Alexandrin was our favorite. In fact, the dinner we enjoyed there in March is among one of the best meals we’ve had in recent memory. (I am a sucker... More

Compared to some of the other top notch restos I had a chance to enjoy in Lyon, this truly didn't live up to its rep. Had a menu fixe, but 2 of the three courses were disappointing, and the cheese was mediocre. The service was also condescending . There are much better options out there for the same price or... Exelent experience I recommend this great resto. Even in Paris I taste a such wonderful dinning. Attention In weekly days are magnificent. This rest should be a Michelin :( category. We traveled in a family trip and it could be for a couple time

We arrived in Lyon on a Friday afternoon, and after a little research web research uncovered a well thought of establishment near our hotel's area of Part Dieu for dinner. The restaurant is small and intimate like many others in Lyon. The chef spent a great deal of time talking with customers seeking feedback on the dishes which we found... More

Very innovative and creative dining in this city of very, very French food. The setting is elegant but still relaxed and intimate. Expensive, but eminently worth it. Also notable is the fact that they offer a full vegetarian tasting menu - not common among restaurants of this caliber in this part of Europe.
