Billed as Franco-Japanese, but as far as we could tell this was full on traditional fare, very well done, on a quiet street in the upscale 6th arrondissement. Small and refined but not stuffy, the restaurant offers two different menus, one a market menu and the other a more expanded tasting menu. There is also an a la carte menu... More

A Japanese restaurant in the world capital of gastronomy very gutsy and ver well done. You won't find this place walking around the city because the front is very discrete. Two menus make it very simple to choose, one from the daily market the other one gastronomic. Overall very fresh an typical Japanese cuisine. Very good surprise.

We went here to get a break from the typical lyonnaise food. It was good. I had the udon noodles and it was very flavorful and perfect for a cold night. My husband got the set menu for 35 euros and it was ok and he wishes he had gotten mine. Not very many actual sushi options.

The restaurant does not have a big sign outside. The sign was a little bigger than an A4 size. So you have to look closely at the house number. Chef Tomo came out from the kitchen to greet us. We went for the french food and not the japanese. After all we did not travel to Lyon to eat Japanese.... More

I had my best Japanese food experience here. If you are tired of fast-food Sushi bars and want to try real Japanese food, go for it. The service was excellent as well, waitress explained every dish and was really helpful and friendly. I had the 6 dishes menu, was an awesome experience. They have french cuisine as well, don't get... More

Superb, authetic (read: not French-fied) Japanese food, prepared thoughtfully and sensitively. Fabulous sake selection. Dinner here is an experience. Lunch is a steal. The staff is shockingly friendly and helpful, and one non-Japanese lady speaks excellent English. I can't recomment it highly enough.

Food was fantastic and the staff were lovely. We ordered off the a la carte menu but you could also order set menus as other reviewers have mentioned. Service was prompt. There were a number of Japanese people eating at the restaurant which is always a good sign to judge the quality of the Japanese food. The chef intermittently came... More

Situated just two blocks from the Rhone River, Restaurant Tomo is a great choice for the diner looking for well prepared French food or for a twist, traditional Japanese food. Being that we were in Lyon for one night, we decided to go with the French menu. There were perhaps 12 diners having the Japanese menu, but only 2 couples... More

This restaurants provides either Fench or Japanese cuisine. We went to the Japanese "side" with a "degustation memu",:perfect execution, very fresh produces, very creative combinations. Obviously the chef masters techniques at the hightest levels, even for the most simple outstanding silky tastefull rice. Service is absolutely charming.
