a great 3 course menu for 45 euros with 4 star service

Although we had to take a 15 euro taxi each way to the "New" side of Lyon (near RR station, Part Dieu) we felt it was worth it. The restaurant was small but not cramped by French standards. A head waiter also acted as wine steward With the help of one assistant the entire restaurant was serviced... read more

We visited during wintertime and ate at the famous Maison Clovis, on a friends recommendation. The food was fantastic, we had the degus menu and had a lovely evening. The staff looked out for our party of four and snow and sleet did not dampen our evening afterwards.

We put ourselves in the hands of the chef by choosing the menu decoverte at 75 euro per head and in the hands of the waiter for the choice of wine by the glass to accompany each course. The risk paid off and we had a voyage of gastronomic discovery which I’d recommend to food-loving visitors to Lyon. We ate... More

I went to Maison Clovis for the first time for my birthday dinner in 2011 and we loved it. The decor is modern without being intimidating, the food is innovative and very good, and the wine selection was a winner. My hubby and I took our immediate families there for lunch after our civil marriage ceremony last month and les... More

Wonderful evening out in this good, but unpretentious restaurant. Great value for money in the chef's specialities menu (65 Euros for 4 courses + 2 amuse bouche). Excellent service, good wine suggestion and innovative dishes. We particularly enjoyed the langoustine starter. I'll be recommending Maison Clovis to all my friends.

Finest ingredients, perfectly prepared, exquisitely platted. Great advice on the choice of wines. Chef Clovis went out of his way to serve a delightful foie gras entrée to our American guests (even though it wasn't on the restaurant summer menu). Service was attentive, courteous. By all means, one the very best meals we ever had in Lyon.

We ended our visit to Lyon with a dinner at Maison Glovis. This evening there were only four tables occupied. Despite the request for a small break between courses, the main course was served immediately after the starter. We wanted to surprise us and chose the "discovery" menu. The food was of good quality with the occasional surprising flavor and... More

We had a very nice meal here, the food is good and the cooking is creative, but the pace for service is a bit too slow, and the atmopshere isn't exactly thrilling. Not bad, just a bit cold.

We were very fortunate to book into Maison Clovis on the last night of our 4-day visit to Lyon. Lunch was fully booked and I believe we took the last dinner table. After tasting lots of local Bouchon cuisine, Chef Clovis gave us the best culinary send-off without taking us to the cleaners. It is easily the best meal we... More
