Authentic food in the heart of Lyon

Highly recommend this boutique restaurant serving authentic Lyon cuisine. This tiny restaurant is always jam packed, so make sure you call ahead to make a booking! We were delighted with the friendly, enthusiastic and eccentric manager who explained the menu to us. The food was served quickly and was excellent value for money, a full 3 courses for about 20-25... More

On our last night in Lyon (which coincided with the recent attacks in Paris), we were lucky enough to grab the last 2 seats for dinner at Le Musee. We had seen the reviews from others on TripAdvisor, and the concierge at our hotel had spoken highly of the restaurant. We were a little skeptical when we first approached the... More

Packed to the gills mostly with men. We shared a table with 3 businessmen as that is how the business operates. The mushroom salad was spectacular as a starter. I followed up with the pork cheeks which were perfectly seasoned. My wife started with the eggplant and she had enough for a meal. My wife's second dish was a veal... More

8 of us ate here on our first night in Lyon and had a brilliant night. Food very good and excellent value but it was the entertainment factor which made it stand out from other restaurants, provided by its owner, very well described in other reviews. I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying their evening here!

Le Musee is the restaurant to eat at in Lyon. They do not take online reservations and you will need reservations, just like most every place worth eating in Lyon. I found it easy to simply ask my hotel concierge to make them for me prior to my arrival. The concierge was quick to applaud my choice in restaurant, and... More

We had a great lunch-time 'Bouchon' experience here. You really are bouchon'ed into this small very busy place but the staff are extremely efficient and helpful. You'll share a long table with others - but you'll soon become friends with you neighbouring diners! Le Musee serves traditional Lyonaise food in substantial portions at a very reasonable price. The lamb's tongues,... More

Excellent service: the staff is helpful, the owner takes time to speak to you and obviously loves sharing his food. The food is to die for, really. And remember to be open about it: my boyfriend had lamb brain for main and it was DELICIOUS! Prices are really reasonable. Do go and have a great evening!

We dined here last night and had a great meal and a great time. The owner was very cordial and humorous. The courses were what I'd call great home cooked French food. Total bill for 3 people was 94 Euros with two bottles of house wine. The owner took us out for a tour and a story of the traboules... More

Bouchon-these are the reason to visit Lyon. The food here, at Le Musee made me shed a tear. It was spectacular, magnificent, it was the essence of what this city is, in addition to its secret passageways, and century old streets. The indulgence was superb, at a very minimal cost, the cannelle, the pork cheek, the mousse, all beyond what... More

It is a dedicated mission of ours to visit as many Lyonnaise Bouchons as we can and our visit to Le Musee last weekend was in the top three of our list to try. We had a wonderful evening on count of the delicious food and the fantastic friendly and very entertaining service. The owner is magnificent, we loved him!... More
