What a great place to enjoy a wonderful meal. While visiting friends in Lyon, we wanted to experience the real Lyonais French cuisine. We were treated to a fabulous meal but firstly, the owner gave us a tour of the covered passageway used by the early French to carry silk goods which his restaurant sits in front of. The owner... To experience an authentic Lyonnais cuisine and environment of a local bouchon, place Le Musee on your "do not miss" list. Even though it is open for lunch, try to make reservations for an evening meal starting with seating at 7:30 (19:30). With only seating for 40 diners, the atmosphere is cozy but the owner/chef will make you feel as... More

I am very glad that we tried this very special restaurant. A great opposition to all the fancy "we know best" restaurants around. Very old school cooking. But all was perfectly cooked and very tasteful. No menu carte but all is read aloud by the patron. If you have no french language knowledge, you will be lost. But then just... More

So this place is NOT a fancy restaurant. But its great food and cool atmosphere! Its kind of hidden, with tons of tables crammed in there. Seriously, dont plan on getting up to go to the bathroom. The staff is very FUN! The waiter comes over and reads you the menu, which is just a sheet of paper with things... More

Make sure you have a basic level of french proficiency when you visit this place. Otherwise, you will end up like me ...... getting lots of surprises. The owner tried very hard to explain the menu to us and I felt really sorry for bothering them. But we managed to get what we want and the dishes are fabulous. I... More

I had one of the most incredible meals of my life in this little mom and pop restaurant in the center of Lyon. Don't expect a fancy place, it is a bunch of tables all close together with absolutely zero privacy. This actually ADD to the overall experience of the meal. The owner sit with you to discuss the dishes... More

We loved the food. The dishes were traditional, simple dishes, but so good. I loved meeting the owner and having a short chat. He even knew a few words in polish once he realized I spoke the language :) The only downside was sitting outside in a small area and being cramped. However, it does add a certain charm to... More

Almost passed on going for dinner because it was a warm night and no outdoor seating available. It would have been huge mistake. Restaurant is small and crowded inside that adds to its charm. You sit very close to other dinners. We actually were seated at a large table with a family of three. We made friends lol Restaurant totally booked so... More

This place is not to be missed on a Lyon layover. Some of the richest, most deliciously honest French food I've ever had. Don't miss the lamb leg and pork cheeks. The creme brulee was sensational. Great, affordable wine. Go for the Morgon. And gigantic portions are ideal for sharing between carnivorous friends. A warning, this place is not veggie... More

Chef comes with the menu on a piece of paper. Just detailing is makes you wish to try it all. Serving are generous, food is warm and excellent. You are a bit squeezed, as the tables are very close to each other. Not the place for a romantic one to one dinner.
