My boyfriend and I booked a lunch at Le Musée after reading rave reviews about the restaurant through TA. We booked the morning before the restaurant, hoping to sneak in a lunch before our train home, and luckily there was enough room to fit us in. Upon arrival, the lovely owner took our suitcases and locked them away in a... More

WOW! That was the first thing that came to my head when my girlfriend and I, entered the restaurant and saw the communal tables and the small place that was reserved for us between a young couple and some businessmen... We had an AMAZING lunch there, and it was all thanks to the owner/waiter/baker (and his staff,of course!). Even though... More

The reviewers have said it all and it is all true. Experience with the spoken menu was fun, although they shouldn't try to translate it to English, the dishes sound more appetizing spoken in french. Food was great, comfort food (it's all about the sauce). We weren't looking for a culinary experience, but we happened by the restaurant and were... More

We came here on a recommendation of a local and are so glad we did. We were the first patrons at 7:30 but were soon joined by many more. The chef/owner came by with a hand printed menu and explained (in French, a bit of English, and lots of sound effects and hand movements) all the items. I had the... More

The great part about this place is that there is no menu, it changes every day. The waiter comes to explain the menu and even though he did not speak fluent English he acted out the entire menu and had us guessing what the food was, this was incredibly entertaining and very nice of him to take the time to... A great experience. The proprietor/chef goes through the menu patiently, with pantomime and rare English--for calf head and trotters, he shook his head "no," commenting "too Indiana Jones." The three of us at first didn't want to follow his counsel, and timidly ordered three servings of chicken cooked in vinegar. But we eventually came around to his suggestion--pork cheeks, quenelles,... More

This was the second time we visited Le Musee, and we will come here the next time we visit Lyon. The restaurant is very cozy and the owner is very entertaining when he explains the menu with pantomime (he doesn't speak english very well). All dishes we tried was amazing, especially the quenelle. Great worth for the money!

What a great place to enjoy a wonderful meal. While visiting friends in Lyon, we wanted to experience the real Lyonais French cuisine. We were treated to a fabulous meal but firstly, the owner gave us a tour of the covered passageway used by the early French to carry silk goods which his restaurant sits in front of. The owner... To experience an authentic Lyonnais cuisine and environment of a local bouchon, place Le Musee on your "do not miss" list. Even though it is open for lunch, try to make reservations for an evening meal starting with seating at 7:30 (19:30). With only seating for 40 diners, the atmosphere is cozy but the owner/chef will make you feel as... More

I am very glad that we tried this very special restaurant. A great opposition to all the fancy "we know best" restaurants around. Very old school cooking. But all was perfectly cooked and very tasteful. No menu carte but all is read aloud by the patron. If you have no french language knowledge, you will be lost. But then just... More
