Not to be missed delicious experience

The food here is SCRUMPTIOUS, incredibly generous and artful. The atmosphere was extremely jolly and the owner and host a charming pixy of a man! He took on a tour afterwards of a "traboule" ( inside passageway) which led to the Gutenberg-style centuries old printing press location. Fascinating... read more

We had not intended to eat at a bouchon given the temperature was over 30C for the 3 days we were in Lyon. However, we sat down outside Le Musee for a late lunch without realising what it was and before we knew what had happened the larger than life owner had us going for the menu and ordering pigs... My family and I had a memorable meal at Le Musee. The owner was delightful and funny and explained everything on the menu to us. They served local traditional Lyonnaise Style cuisine. You must be adventurous eaters and try everything! The Quenelles were to die for! As well as the tripe sausage and veal snout salad. The lamb kidney entree... More

We booked by telephone and were told that we must sit outside. That seemed OK but in fact the area was a scruffy backwater and we missed out on the floor show provided by the patron inside. The food was just OK but not memorable. The chef had apparently forgotten to put any fish in my quenelle which took all... More

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times already, and the only word we can use to describe "Le Musée" is: marvelous! If you are looking for an authentic culinary Lyon experience, then head straight to Le Musée. The ambience is 100% lyonnais, the staff is super-friendly, and the food is delicious. What's more, the restaurant is great... More

Fantastic little restaurant in Lyon serving typical Lyonnaise style food. No menu, and you choose from what the chef is cooking that night. I would recommend starting with a glass of Kir then quenelle, veal snout salad, tripe sausage, sausage in brioche and well as escargot. The waiter Roberto was patient and explained all the items, and had a great... More

The good reputation of this restaurant goes before it. All of the previous superlatives are true. It is definitely best to book. We were clearly destined to eat here as, despite no reservation, we were fortunate enough to get the only two remaining covers available. Many were turned away as the place was full. From the exterior, there is no... More

Superb, fantastic. We ate here on our 6th night and this was by far the best. There were 4 of us and we each had a different starter, main and dessert. None of us were disappointed but we did stay away from the more typical Lyonnaise Bouchon "delicacies". There was no menu, the atmosphere excellent, the staff entertaining, friendly and... More

Having been on the food trail for 2 weeks, Le Musee gave us something different to experience in le bouchon cuisine. Warm and comforting, it was back to basics and deliciously so!
