A real bouchon lyonnais

If you want to experience a real bouchon lyonnais and avoid some of the tourist trap ones you can find in the old town, go to le Musee... as soon as we arrived, we were seated next to a group of 5 local gentlemen and before we knew it, we started chatting with them and sampling their wine... I went with family and friends and we were seated outside in a warm June evening with other people at first I didn't like this but it added to the atmosphere as the night went on and the wine flowed. Food was very good and simple Lyon cuisine, I had the quenelle which was excellent and the wine was quite... More

We were a group of 12 friends visiting Lyon for the weekend and to watch the Rugby!! I was in charge of finding a typical Lyonnaise Bouchon and I think I did!. I spent many hours searching and Le Musee seemed to tick all the boxes. Not at all touristy, local French eating there, great food and wine, lovely ambience,... More

We were in Lyon to visit my Goddaughter celebrating her 3rd birthday. Where do I start? The restaurant it tiny, the tables are traditional and there is nothing fancy or pretentious about the restaurant. The Owner is a character and a retired baker, but, he still bakes bread for the restaurant, and the bread is divine. The owner, reads out... More

Good food in this very typical 'bouchon lyonnais'. Host welcomes you with a dry sense of humor managing to make you feel quite at home. Then after end of service he'll take 1/2h to show around a 'traboule' adding a little bit of Lyon's history, starting at roman times. We had a very good time.

My dinner was lovely- great family casual atmosphere with a friendly owner. Set meal is cheap- so worth it!! would give it a 8.5/9 out of 10 - would definitely go back again.

My boyfriend and I booked a lunch at Le Musée after reading rave reviews about the restaurant through TA. We booked the morning before the restaurant, hoping to sneak in a lunch before our train home, and luckily there was enough room to fit us in. Upon arrival, the lovely owner took our suitcases and locked them away in a... More

WOW! That was the first thing that came to my head when my girlfriend and I, entered the restaurant and saw the communal tables and the small place that was reserved for us between a young couple and some businessmen... We had an AMAZING lunch there, and it was all thanks to the owner/waiter/baker (and his staff,of course!). Even though... More

The reviewers have said it all and it is all true. Experience with the spoken menu was fun, although they shouldn't try to translate it to English, the dishes sound more appetizing spoken in french. Food was great, comfort food (it's all about the sauce). We weren't looking for a culinary experience, but we happened by the restaurant and were... More

We came here on a recommendation of a local and are so glad we did. We were the first patrons at 7:30 but were soon joined by many more. The chef/owner came by with a hand printed menu and explained (in French, a bit of English, and lots of sound effects and hand movements) all the items. I had the... More
