I am sharing this in english as I would truly like to recommend this bouchon to all the foreigners visiting Lyon. I am myself originally from Lyon and spent most of my life there and I was amazed when I visited Chez Georges. The place is just all about a bouchon: nice traditional decoration, small space, many tables, a friendly... More

Lunch with three friends. An excellent and copious plat du jour: salade mason including a generous tranche of foie gras and several slices of magret de canard. Implausibly, the simple cockerel crest salad was very good as was the follow-up of the menu du jour, namely chicken in a vinegar-based source. The ouef en cocotte followed by the veal kidneys... Like a typical bouchon, food here is heavy and this is where you can get all sorts of organs. Try the charcuterie here with home made terrine. For mains, we tried the Veal kidney (rognon) in Mustard sauce and for a non organ eater like me, it was good. The food requires some adventurous stomach for most part. But the... More

A friend of mine recommended that I eat at Brasserie Georges, but for some reason I turned that into Chez Georges, which is how I ended up here. The place is tiny - I think it seats about 25 or so, and most of the parties sit right next to each other at a few longer tables. The staff does... More

Enjoyed the most marvelous lunch at Au Petit Bouchon Chez Georges. We were lucky to get a table at lunchtime. This busy restaurant is small and tables are closely set. We were welcomed warmly and with our limited French and the help of one of the staff we managed to order one set menu of the day - a terrine... More

Delicious authentic food. Small, less than 15 tables with excellent service. Huge portions. They have a menu in a variety of languages. I had the sausage in red wine sauce - delicious. My husband had food of which I don't know the names, but while very unlike anything we have ever had before, it was delicious. The prixe fixe menu... More

This is a typical Lyon restaurant. There is no decor and there is very little space around the tables. All that counts here is the food and it is copious and good. I began with a pastry filled with boudin (blood sausage) and apples, followed by sea bass in a sorrel cream sauce and I finished with a tart filled... More

The previous day I had lunch at a nearby restaurant called Le Musse which was fantastic so I was hoping for something similar given that the tripadvisor reviews for Au Petit Bouchon Chez Georges are better. But... my experience at Chez Georges was totally different from the previous day but it is a charming and cosy place to eat (see... More
