Memorable meal

Would definitely go back to Chez George! The quenelles were to die for as well as the eggs in cream and tripe sausage. It's served family style so when we ordered the chicken liver salad and terrine the entire terrine was brought to the table to help ourselves! It was the same for the onion soup as... read more

We went here on a recommendation of a friend, but unfortunately the experience was not great. We made a reservation via email without any issues. We are big time foodies back home, but authentic bouchon food is just not for everyone (you really have to be into eating tripe and fatty dishes). The staff does not speak much English and... More

A very good French friend of my grandson who lives and works in France recommended this restaurant...It was a bouchon, one of a select group in France...there was a limited menu with choices of appetizers, main course, and desserts...Every item on the menu was outstanding, as each of us made different selections...the atmosphere, the waiter, the cook all made this... Small place, local food, very friendly staff. Everything seems fresh and homemade. The food is rather heavy and tipical Lyonnaise, so it might not be for everyone but you can definitely find a very high quality in everything.

Superb meal in a family run restaurant. Tiny restaurant without being intrusive on other diners. Relaxed and warm atmosphere!

The general manager at my hotel recommended and booked a table for me at this Bouchon. I had no idea what to expect since I'd never been to Lyon before but I was very pleasantly surprised. The owner and chef don't speak English as the other reviews have mentioned but I had no trouble communicating what I'd like and anything... More

Like many others have said, this is some of the best food in France. However, I will disagree with those that suggest that there might be some difficulty navigating in English. A simple please and thank you in French plus a good attitude is all you need to get you through. Both the chef and the waiter had sufficient knowledge... More

If you bring a healthy appetite, a sense of adventure, and a sense of humor, you will receive in return a wonderful local meal in congenial surroundings. The food is not light, the space is tight, but everything is wonderfully prepared. (You might have difficulty if you are squeamish about what you eat, but it is truly all delicious)!

If you are going to spend money at a place like this , do your research first. The service exceptional, the atmosphere, cosy and warm, a little too warm in summer , but that what you expect on a hot Lyon day. The food, rich as the richest food you have ever eaten. I thought i knew rich food but... More
