My husband and I had a magnificent lunch at Eskis. We were served a plate of tiny amuse bouches as we were deciding what to order, and they were so splendid and full of surprise that we both immediately opted for the larger of the two pairing menus with the accompanying wine. We were not disappointed. The whole meal was... More

We made a reservation at Eskis for this evening (May 29th) at 7:30. We arrived promptly and the front door was locked. We looked in and saw wait staff inside. They also saw us! We waited until 7:35 and they had still not opened so we left. We will never return.

I went here with my husband and we thought it was pretty nice, but not exceptional. I made a reservation online and never received a confirmation, so I called and they acted like it was a big deal to squeeze us in. This restaurant had 12 tables and only 3 were occupied while we were there, so I don't see... More

If you like staring at an empty white table for 45 minutes with no drinks, then you've come to the right spot! Ok, I'm a spoiled eater and love great restaurants, so when I read the recommendations here I reserved a table. Boy was I unimpressed, the staff was friendly and we had a nice table but the timing sucked... More

My first experience in a so called "cuisine contemporaire" or "molecular gastronomy" restaurant and I must say it was spectacular! Very creative associations of Incredible tastes, textures, colours ending up in a unique and beautiful visual and gustative symphony! Bravo the Chef! Need to book ahead - very limited guests and the price is in line.

We've been to Eskis twice - first for Valentine's Day in 2011 and last month with American family visiting from out of town. Eskis is a great experience and one of my favorite restos in Lyon: The menu changes with the seasons so everything's fresh, and it's really just a list of ingredients: You tell the waiter what you don't... I had to admit that my wife had to drag me kicking and scream to this place. When we first saw it while walking the town it look a bit austere. With its Italian look, white, modern leather seats and round tables, it appeared a bit affected. Well, nothing of the sort. The waiters are extremely gregarious, the food is... More

It was already our third visit to the Eskis. For my daughters birthday, we travelled especially for dinner in the Eskis to Lyon. We love the creativity of the Chef. We love the small size of the restaurant. We love the personalised service. They change the menu every month. The cuisine leans towards molecular and nouvelle cuisine. Very creative, and... More

We've had enough "molecular cuisine" to not be impressed by this little place. The truffle and chestnut soup had no truffle flavor. The portions were tiny, and even while we had the seven course menu, with a couple of amuse bouche thrown in, we kept wolfing down the bread a girl kept serving out. It appeared most other tables did... More

You have to go in here with an open mind, as the menu is chosen for you. You can choose 4 or 7 courses, we opted for 4 which was plenty, and we also allowed them to choose wines for us to drink with our meal. Every dish was beautifully presented, my favourites were the amuse bouche, the Fois gras... More
