Terrific traditional Lyon food, but be prepared, it's very heavy! Really good prices also. You get a whole menu with several fantastically prepared dishes for 27€. Good quality of house wine also... Atmosphere and service are also top notch!

This bouchon nonpareil exceeded expectations. The meal was perfect. We had lunch and the Cafe was filled with locals. The platter of starters was wonderful, the quenelles were the gold standard, and the baba au rhum was revelatory. Service was correct. One was dining with gastonomic history.

Ate our one dinner in Lyon here. It was near our hotel and we wanted to eat at a traditional boucheron. The meal was very good and lots of it. I got the quenelles, which were good, but a bit overwhelming for me. I had read that quenelles were dumplings, so expected small dumplings. Instead, it was 2 long dumplings... More

Having read about the Lyon " bouchon experience" and this famous cafe, I had lunch here after Mass on Ascension Day. As it was a public holiday in France , there were many locals enjoying lunch out as well as tourists and the cafe was filling up fast. The friendly owner and his staff chatted with everyone before introducing the... More

This place is a little off the beaten path from old town and all the "bouchon's" there. While I am certainly not an expert- this was much more the experience I was expecting. We made a reservation ( only earlier in the day) but it was a good thing because we watched over and over again people being turned away.... More

Had a first class dinner here last night. Restaurant has two rooms. We were shown into the second and, disconcertingly, were the only ones in there. However, within the hour the room was mobbed, so no worries there. Great, convivial atmosphere and excellent, friendly service. Started with a delicious beef soup with lardons and poached egg. This was followed by... More

There are many bouchons in Lyon but few which can match the charm, warm service and excellent food. We noticed immediately that many of the guests were french (a good sign). We were warmly welcomed and served a nice selection of starters (lentil salad, endive salad and charcuteries) which come with each meal. I've had many quenelles (classic Lyonnais fish dumpling... I am giving this restaurant 0 stars which I have never done for a restaurant before. I had to click one star to post the review but it's really 0. Robert and I were very excited to go to this restaurant and had booked way in advance due to the positive reviews here. We had a confirmation email that said... More

Not much to add to other positive reviews but here goes anyway. We had called to reserve which they had forgotten but they squeezed us in anyway so no big deal. The service was relaxed and friendly all evening and the general atmosphere fun. The food is very good but go hungry as there is a lot of it! We... More

Food was not complicated, but well done. Starter veal carpaccio served with guacamole and black olives was a nice touch. Cod fish with black olives was a good local version and tasty.
