Our last night in Lyon and we researched the best bouchon in the city. This one came up and certainly fulfilled our expectations. We had a very jolly evening, welcoming staff and great food. A lovely way to end our trip.

I wanted to rate this zero but the minimum is one.If you want to experience the epitome of french arrogance and disdain for customers then I recommend that you go here. Otherwise avoid it like le plague. No idea if that is the correct word in french, but, a bit like them: I can't be bothered. The rudest waitress I... More

Great local food, no fancy plating but excellent taste and reasonable prices. Loved the quenelles and the dessert with chestnuts. Very friendly staff, we felt so welcome with our 4 month old son. Will definitely return!

Had an amazing experience here last Friday night at this traditional Lyonnaise Bouchon. Wow what a meal! My husband has always wanted to visit Le Cafe Des Federation and was not disappointed. The owner warmly welcomed us in and our waitress Celine looked after us so well, explaining all the dishes. Even the chef popped out to check we were... More

Delicious dinner w many plates of local delicacies including poached egg in wine sauce, wild boar terrine, lyonnaise salad and cured meats. The braised pig cheek was stupendously tender and absolutely amazing flavor. Highly recommend for its friendly welcoming atmosphere and phenomenal food. Oh be sure to make reservations well ahead of time on web site.

You have to book, and for good reason. The service is entertaining- witty, pithy but not offensive. Food arrives because you have arrived and when you have devoured your oxcheek and egg soup, and salad, you may get to choose a main- we all had the pigs cheeks and why not, utterly superb. The cheese plate I would happily have... More

Dear Yves, I am a gurmande, to start with and I will always remember the great time i had there. But more importantly, i will always remember the taste of your quenelle! the best i ever had! and the house wines...we couldn't help it and bought for home and friends. For me, Le Cafe des Federations is part of the... More

Warm cosy and inviting. Run by a family. Real neighbourhood restaurant. Far preferable to restaurants in the old town which feature spruikers and tourist menus with ordinary food. All dishes at des Federations were fabulous. Didn't want to leave

Great food, great ambiance. An authentic Bouchon Lyonnais. You get what you get and you don't get upset. We had a great time.
