Pork cheek the best

It was my first and probably my last experience with a "buchon" even if this one has a good reputation. You must have an iron stomach to digest all this fat and greasy food and for an Italian the famous Lyonnaise dry sausage "Rosette" is tastless. I liked the salads and loved the pork cheek. The... read more

i reserved there on the advioce of my brother ...well in advance and via their web site. WE were going to meet there our children and significant others whom had all travelled different routes to Lyon. So 5 of us; including a new additon to the family who had never experienced the full Lyon culinary experience. My brother failed to... More

It was a local gendarme(policeman) who told me that this is a must do. And so it was. I arrived on the dot of midday and the natives were ahead of me so I knew I was on a winner. Be on time as otherwise you will not get a seat. They have a set menu. I was given a... More

Perfect spot to discover local cuisine 2mn from place des terreaux. Not so much place, lots of small table but real typical local restaurant, No special tourist restaurant, staff expérienced with character, And passion. Enjoy!

We went for lunch and arrived about 20-30 minutes before the kitchen was closing. The waitress was very impolite and put us to seat in a minuscule table for 2 although we were 3 people and several tables were empty. In addition, several other tables were getting available because of the time of the day. After waiting 5-7 minutes without... More

We had stumbled over this restaurant when watching a Raymond Blanc TV programme. He had featured the restaurant on his trip to Lyon and cited it as the very best of the ten or so remaining bouchons in the city. Whilst trying to decide which starter to have the first one on the list was placed in front of us.... More

From beginning to ending, this was an incredible experience. The starters were a meal in themselves, but more was to follow. Mains, cheese and dessert followed. The cheese plate was an absolute DREAM!! Part of any good restaurant experience is the welcome and level of service given to the customer and we were happy in all areas!

We had diner twice in a couple of weeks there and each time we found it a very good place to be. the place is very typical which make it somehow a bit touristic kind of place but the staff and owner are nice, friendly and fun. The food is OK, maybe not the very best food possible but ok,... More

My wife and I went here for lunch and absolutely loved the place. The lentil starter was outstanding as was the bread that accompanied the meal (I mention the bread because, sadly, having spent a month in France on this trip, bread became a real mixed bag). My main dish, a stew of pork cheeks in a heavy brown-black sauce,... More

Loved this restaurant! We went for lunch on a Sunday in September and it was pretty full but they squeezed us in. Had the set menu of starters and chose the pork cheeks and the quenelles for our mains. Starters were AWESOME! We loved the poached egg in its cup of delicious brown bacony broth. Then were thrilled by the... More
