Probably a place to avoid if you care about your food and your wine and are out for a nice memorable meal. Had the set three course dinner "recommended by the chef." The cauliflower soup served as a starter was excellent but from then on it was downhill. Main course was entrecote which was fine but... read more

A great restaurant, good food, good wine, great atmosphere. Would recommend if you are staying in Grenoble. In the old part of town by the market area.

I was in Grenoble for a 2 week University course from Australia and on our first night they took a group of 25 of us to this restaurant for dinner. The restaurant is in the old part of town which is cobblestones and pedestrianised and filled with interesting architecture. The building the restaurant is in is lovely and the food... More

L'Epicurean is located in a very old section of Grenoble which is very atmospheric. The decor of the restaurant too matches its locale. It's comfortable and warm with lots of exposed wood and stone. I ordered duck which was probably my mistake. The breast fat was not rendered and virtually raw and the meat was extremely rare and tough. Too... More

One of the more well known tables in Grenoble. Excellent and original french cusine. Probably second to none in the region. Perfect for a romantic night out. While a little bit on the pricey side, it is well worth it.

Visited this restaurant during a recent Business trip. We went off spec on a Monday evening and only just managed to get a table for 2 even thought it was early. Within 45 minutes the place was packed. If I recall correctly there was three fixed price menus and the Ala Carte menu where you can basically choice what you... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant a couple of evenings ago and we were quite pleased with the selection. I was surprised that the gazpacho I ordered had a cream base, but I have come to think that cream is the main ingredient of most foods here. (Many, many meat dishes include a cream sauce.) My pork was excellent,... More

This restaurant is a bit above the average price range, but it´s definitely worth it. There is something for every taste on the menu. Presentation of the food is very appealing, and so is the taste. The deserts are the weak part of the menu; almost looks like store bought. The service is a bit slow and could be friendlier.... More

We had a very good experience at L'Epicurien. The meat was especially nice and tender (we had beef and duck). They serve good wine too at a reasonable price. The service was friendly. We enjoyed it very much.

Sitting out on a summer evening is a great idea, if the Mistral wind isn't howling and you are late enough for the sun to have set below the mountains enabling the shade blinds to be rolled back. For this reason, its best to make sure you request an outside table, with an indoor option. Fortunately, they are accommodating and... More
