On our last, fifth, night in Grenoble we wanted to eat at what the locals thought was the best French styled restaurant in the town so we asked around and were recommended Le Lyonnais. We wished we had asked earlier. Everything was just perfect, the French styled food, the French ambience etc. etc. Although we spoke little French we were... More

We were brought here by our French hosts to try authentic French cuisine and it did not disappoint. Duck foie gras pate, huge Lyon sausage, potato gratin, and the wines! The French don't like to drink - it's part of their culture. White wine for appetizer and then switching to red for the main plate. Aperitif and digestif - still... More

Excellent French dishes, good and rapid service and reasonable prices. Restaurant where local people come for lunch or dinner.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, and what a great experience it was. They welcomed us with a free drink and we chose from one of their set menus, which were very good value. The food was delicious and the staff were charming.

This is a great local restaurant, offering traditional local fayre, and usually filled with local people, the menu is varied and the portion sizes generous, with an extensive wine list and very helpful staff, it all makes for a fabulous night. It was finished off rather nicely with complimentary digestives, reminding you of how restaurants used to take care of... More

Our hotel recommended this place and they were right to do so. We were allowed in a bit early. The service was excellent. Although the food was not cheap, it was well prepared, presented well, and we were given a few extras not mentioned on the menu. A great place to eat.

Tucked away in a side street but recommended by our hotel and well worth finding. We had a Menu at 32.50 €, very good value. Lovely starters; sublime main courses - Confit de cuisse de canard - good size, beautifully cooked with mushrooms, Joue de boef, absolutely delicious, the pair served with a dish of dauphinois potatoes and a very... Le Lyonnais lives up to its name, serving a very good andouille. It is a discreet, high-quality restaurant at a moderate price. The service was efficient and attentive. The house red was of surprisingly good quality.
