A nice restaurant with friendly staff, you should definitely try the "potence". Beef is amazing after being flambé at your table in brandy and the juices all drip over your frites, yumm... Not cheap but well worth the experience.

Great food, lovely lady serving us, welcoming and interesting atmosphere and very special little place! A little bit too expensive for my liking, but not a crazy amount. Would recommend!

I'm here in Grenoble for a week, so last night I spent the evening going though what I would like to eat over the week.I made a list and started tonight with L'Ynsolence, I asked for the house speciality but was told it was really for two people, but she was happy to do it for one. Its basically a... More

Whether you’re in Grenoble for a quick trip or longer, I recommend a visit to l’Ynsolence, a wonderful and original restaurant just a brief walk from the train station. The décor is amusing, eclectic and cosy, the menu is inventive and food sourced locally from the Isère region. (The the ‘Y’ in the name refers to the location of Grenoble... More

A friend told us about the place. Waitress and Cook are really nice. The restaurant is well decorated. You can even seat un a bathtub!!! The wine is good. The experience of the "potence" was great. You can see the "fire show" before degusting the meat hammered in a kind of special designed metal mace with spikes hanged to a... More

Great food (you should try their specials), english menu. Service a little bit slow, because there are too much people for just 1 waitress. Prices are ok, 25-40 euro per person for dinner.

Small cosy restaurant with good food and a good wine list. The menu list is rather short, but the food is of excellent quality and all ingredients come from the Isère area. A good address whenever you want to go out for dinner in Grenoble and you are a couple or a small group.

We enjoyed the food at L'Insolence but maybe our view of it was coloured by having eaten the night before at the excellent La Madelon, across the road. I would certainly give it another try if I was to be in Grenoble again
