Fantastic little restaurant

This little restaurant, barely more than a hole in the wall, offers a unique dining experience. Their speciality is taken out of medieval tiles, the ball of a spike club threaded with meat, hung over a pot of fries and then flambéed with cognac letting the juices and cognac drip into the fries... read more

I enjoyed a lot this place. Ambient was smooth and warm and people really fantastic. Not many tables but this helps a lot to keep the noise level very low. We had a great appetizer with Lobster and some kind of tortellini. Entree has been a surprise: we shared (in two) a kind of huge pineapple of duck and beef... More

We decided to go to this restaurant intrigued by its original name. We had a very good evening, the decoration inside is stunning and worth seeing ! The dishes were excellent, from the starter to the dessert and the wine list is great. You can rely on the waitress to get good advice with the smile ! Definitely a must-see... More

The restaurant is nice and has a special atmosphere. We sat outside on the terrace. Unfortunately the trams that go by make a lot of noise. And we had bad luck with the choice we made for diner. Staff tried to solve our problem, but our experience still was disappointing.

This restaurant has a gimmick, which is that they serve three different kinds of meat on a sort of upright spit thing that they light on fire at your table (a "potence" - apparently dates from medieval times). It looks impressive because the fire is huge, but we did not order this so can't comment on how it tastes. They... More

Walking the streets of Grenoble while on business, my colleagues and I were looking for dinner and came across this little restaurant. We were greeted warmly by the hostess. Service and food were excellent. One of the best meals for the price that I have ever had - anywhere.

All you need to know is that this resto is famous for its " potence de boeuf/canard/gambas" . Gorgeous decor and the lovely couple that run the place are so very friendly.

A nice restaurant with friendly staff, you should definitely try the "potence". Beef is amazing after being flambé at your table in brandy and the juices all drip over your frites, yumm... Not cheap but well worth the experience.

Great food, lovely lady serving us, welcoming and interesting atmosphere and very special little place! A little bit too expensive for my liking, but not a crazy amount. Would recommend!

I'm here in Grenoble for a week, so last night I spent the evening going though what I would like to eat over the week.I made a list and started tonight with L'Ynsolence, I asked for the house speciality but was told it was really for two people, but she was happy to do it for one. Its basically a... More
