Cosy refuge in a cold Grenoble

My colleague and I arrived to this tiny, cosy restaurant by mere chance. We were recommended to go to La Petit Idée but it was closed until April, so we asked for advice in the food shop next door and were pointed towards Rue Docteur Mazet. We were lucky enought to get there rather early (around... read more

Whilst living in Grenoble, La Petite Bouche quickly became a firm favourite. I very much liked the fact it's just two men working in the restaurant and that you can see your meal being prepared before your eyes. The owner/ main waiter can sometimes be a little brusque, but I can imagine it must be difficult running such a popular... More

So good, I went there twice. Chilled atmosphere, great food and entertaining/ friendly owner and waiter. They had an extra charm to them, and a bit of the french humor. Had patience with my english, and my french speaking girlfriend filled in the gaps. Worth a visit!

We were taken here by our French friends. Lots of atmosphere. It is run by an ex waiter who takes enormous pride in his cooking which he does in front of you. Served by a very busy waitress. It was lovely. The menu du jour is great. The 3 puddings pudding was enormous and we shared.

Our first mistake was to come 5 instead of 4 – this was a big problem for the waiter / owner, which started to discuss with the cook about this unacceptable situation. Then, we have ordered just before the closing of the cooking service, the atmosphere become very heavy and we have sensed that we were not welcomed. We have... More

After a long day we went to this restaurant based on the reviews on this site. The place was not fully booked and we were almost sitting on the chair, however when we asked for the English menu or a translation of some words from french to english the owner/manager just shouted to us " When I have time" following... We were group of three and wanted nice meals at the end of a long day. We wanted to try this place based on reviews from here, but we were turned away not because the place was booked out but we were THREE! One of us spoke French and she tried to reason with the owner/manager, but he practically kicked... More

We're on our first trip to France/Switzerland and we've been using tripadvisor for all our eating recommendations. We tried this place and it was fantastic! The atmosphere has you feeling like you are in someone's home eating, with the kitchen being relatively open to the small dining area. The menu is written on a blackboard in french (which we don't... This little gem really was a good find. The menu is interesting and the food well cooked and tasty. Nice cafe style ambiance and affordable prices make this top of my list for a quick supper in Grenoble. Best to book at popular times as I was lucky to grab the last table when I arrived at 20:00, midweek,
