We visited the Albert 1er Restaurant whilst staying at the hotel which we very much enjoyed. The restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere with attentive waitors. The food tasted good but was not surprising or creative as one would expect from a 2-starred Michelin restaurant. We rather felt that the kitchen was stuck in the 80s. The dishes were unbalanced... My friends and I stopped into the Albert 1er restaurant for lunch after spending the morning up Aiguille du Midi, and it was a fantastic respite. We started in the bar and had a drink while waiting to be seated. The staff brought out a small tasting plate for each of us which had a small glass with carrot and... More

When you go to a two star, you expect both exceptional service and exceptional food. The service was up there, but the food was disappointing. We had the menu du jour, which didn't really deliver well until the two last courses; the cheese and dessert trolley. Even then - two stars..? I expected MUCH more.

Stylish decor and from the first moment you enter, you have the feeling you have entered a posh establishment. Unfortunately, my first impression with the complimentary canapes was not very good. The first we called "nothing with a bit thicker nothing". Oyster okay, pastry fine. Then there's some kind of whipped something with salmon infusion and red caviar. Living in... More

This restaurant is one of my favorite. I probably had a douzaine diners there, and stayed one night as well. I have tried the the menus and the a la carte. I love the poularde truffee (order 24h in advance), stuffed with rice and girolles, the veal chop is magnificent, the steam egg with morel is really infused with morel... More

I am sorry but I do not think it is worth 2 Michelin stars. I found it ordinary and I have been to other Michelin restaurants to compare. I am happy to pay for quality but in this case you do not get what you pay for. You get a lot of bells and whistles in the form of cheese... More

Wonderful dishes, each like a painting or piece of art on your plate. Grilled oyster in foie gras broth with white alba truffle for instance. Or seafood mousse under a slide of celery jelly with caviar on top. Or pumpkin soup served in a small pimpkin with a quail egg. The cheese chariot has spectacular goat cheeses. The friandises that... Great food and wine. Excellent service and atmosphere. Very experienced sommelier, who is able to talk about wine with real passion. Next time, when I will be there definitely I will try to repeat the experience. It's a place you will remember for long. Enjoy!

This restaurant really lives up to all the requirements of a proper Michellin 2* rated venue. Freshness of food, presentation, taste, composition, wine selection and NOT LEAST the service was no less than outstanding. Even compared to other very high end restaurants I have been fortunate enough to patronize lately. Saw the head chef selecting his flowers and greeneries in... More

the first time at this grand restaurant with the nicest staff ever, the welcome and the table are so nice & pleasing to the eye ,the setting in the heart of Chamonix is unbelievable as for the restaurant it is part of a hotel set with many chalets around a central building & a farm house,ok enough of this . the...
