We paid over a hundred Eros per person for two courses. At this price we expected some creativity, but there wasn't any. The dishes were boring and average. There was no vegetarian dish. If you want a lot of show off go there, if you want good food don't.

This was meant to be a highlight meal during our stay in Chamonix but we had a less than satisfactory experience. The ambience was stuffy, the service appalling (only the sommelier made some effort to converse with us, the other staff looked like it was the last place they wanted to be), and the food was pretty average. Had a great Lunch with friends, unbelievable cheese and dessert cart. We had set menus which had wine pairings, but we had to remind the waiters to bring the wine (s). When the bill came, we were double billed for all wines (a $120 mistake!!)

Had the gourmand menu, at €85 we got a fantastic meal, with huge portions. The veals rump is probably the most tasty and tender meat I've ever had. The food is regional, nicely presented, yet simple and unpretentious. The sommelier came up with some really good wines, and along with the friendly and helpful waiters we had a wonderful evening.... This restaurant deserves its stars. The meals are exquisite, from the original amuses-bouches to the fabulous cheese tray and the two trolleys of desserts, one with ice creams and fresh fruits, the other with pastries and iles flottant. In between, you will get several courses of fish and meat and vegetables that are done to perfection. The restaurant grows all... More

I will admit, we were disappointed with this restaurant. The menu was good, but not nearly as creative as it could have been and it was very expensive. I want to peruse a menu and have selections that make it difficult to choose, not back into a course because I must selection one. We dined at the sister restaurant on... More

We visited the Albert 1er Restaurant whilst staying at the hotel which we very much enjoyed. The restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere with attentive waitors. The food tasted good but was not surprising or creative as one would expect from a 2-starred Michelin restaurant. We rather felt that the kitchen was stuck in the 80s. The dishes were unbalanced... My friends and I stopped into the Albert 1er restaurant for lunch after spending the morning up Aiguille du Midi, and it was a fantastic respite. We started in the bar and had a drink while waiting to be seated. The staff brought out a small tasting plate for each of us which had a small glass with carrot and... More

When you go to a two star, you expect both exceptional service and exceptional food. The service was up there, but the food was disappointing. We had the menu du jour, which didn't really deliver well until the two last courses; the cheese and dessert trolley. Even then - two stars..? I expected MUCH more.

Stylish decor and from the first moment you enter, you have the feeling you have entered a posh establishment. Unfortunately, my first impression with the complimentary canapes was not very good. The first we called "nothing with a bit thicker nothing". Oyster okay, pastry fine. Then there's some kind of whipped something with salmon infusion and red caviar. Living in... More
