Lovely experience

Came for fondue as recommended by our hotel. Staff was very welcoming and friendly, fondue was quite tasty. Wine recommended by the waiter was very good as well. Would come again. Was lively with many families when we dined, so likely not a great place for a romantic evening out unless you... read more

Recommended by our hotel following a long drive from the Vendee in western France. We realised when we got to the restaurant that we had eaten there a few years ago and it had been fine, if nothing special. At first they placed us next to a talkative group with a noisy child so we declined and were shown to... More

We sat outside for our wonderful meal and didn't get a chance to see the interior until a trip to the washroom. Outrageous! Looks like an antique store and even has a car perched near the stairs. I'm sure patrons thought I was nuts standing there photographing the place inside! Great meal too, and the staff was very friendly as... More

Nice decoration, fair service and food. Good option if you arrive late to Chamonix. Prices are not cheap, but nowhere are here. There is a fixed menu for around 30 euros with three options for entre and main courses, but not very good (tartaflette is just a heavy plate of potato and cheese). Better choose from the menu.

We did not have any expectations of this restaurant but it surprised us in every way. First of all the restaurant was completely full; mostly French. The interior isn't everybody's taste but at least they did their best. Canard was very nice.

La Caleche's decoration is full of wood panels and Savoyard paraphernalia, which immediately puts you in that atmosphere. The service is attentive and professional. The traditional cheese dishes are as they should be. If you want a traditional Savoyard meal, then this restaurant does it very well on all fronts and is worth going to if you are in Chamonix.

Excellent service a good Savoyard food. We chose the hot stone which was very good. Wine list good and overall value for money well worth it.

We loved the food! The escargot was fantastic and reasonably priced. The raclette was huge! There were two of us and we got half a round of cheese. We left very full for a reasonable price. Only downside is it was warm in the restaurant so dress lightly.

This is a busy lively restaurant and the food was good . We hadn't booked but were lucky to be fitted in . The menu choice was varied and not overpriced , the staff friendly and the overall experience was enjoyable . It is in a central position in the village and attractive from the outside definitely worth a visit.
