we were advised to try this place and today we had lunch there. We ate off the 32 Euro menu which looked interesting. My starter was two filo wrapped cheese and apple rolls which were hot and delicious. My main meal was ok but nothing very special, a tournedos of veal with a cheese sauce and mushrooms. However other people... More

This place was very, very cool with great Alpine decor. All the locals we talked to recommended it. The fondue was the real deal, pure cheese (not floury cheese sauce like we see so often in the US), and very tasty. Only caveat was the service--we felt very rushed. Make sure you tell them you want to take it slow!

The food here is incredible, the service is very hospitable and the price is very reasonable. I can't understand why there are so many bad reviews of this place unless you are so damn picky that you need a crease in your ice water. Racelette was superb to say the least as was the onion soup. Stopped by for lunch... More

We treated ourselves to a relatively expensive meal on what was the last night of a motorbike holiday. Being June we were able to sit outside, and it was a great spot to watch the great and the good of Chamonix passing by on foot. Having said that, i really like the interior of the restaurant which is crammed full... More

We ate here several times ten years ago and loved it, but we almost didn't go back because of some negative reviews on Trip Advisor. Ignore them: food and service are excellent. Fabulous foie gras. Outstanding fondue. Good affordable wine list.Very cheerful and competent service. Fun kitschy room with very comfortable well-situated tables. Unless you're a rude tourist who can't... More

We were seeking a typical Alpine lunch and were recommended to go to La Caleche. We enjoyed a cholesterol overdose with their cheese fondue and followed this with a sinful meringue, marron puree and ice cream dessert. Glass of their very well priced local white wine was also much enjoyed. Altogether a delightful experience which satisfied our inner self

We have for the past 8 years or so been going to this restaurant every year when we are in Chamonix. Until this year we found it was very good. This year however we noticed a considerable difference in the food and its quality. Portions were much smaller and quality was very average. The Mont d'Or cheese baked in the... More

Waiter was good, food excellent, location superb! You can seat outside and see the city life passing by or inside in a comfy, old chalet deco. We went few times, always left satisfied.

During a short visit to Chamonix we stopped at this terrace for some food. Unfortunately we were just to late for lunch and we ordered just a bottle of rosé. Because the waitress felt sorry for us, she brought us some small bites from the house like bread with salmon toast with tapenade and little cheese pastry. Her hospitality was... More
