Very busy night

We were a party of ten and we got a variety of dishes. I had a pre fixe dinner that included french onion soup and a chicken that was really delightful. We did have three vega eaters in our group and this was a totally foreign concept to the servers. Understandable, but there was a long debate... read more

We had our first meal in Chamonix at La Caleche, and were greeted with smiles from the hostess and our waitress. Our waitress explained some of the different fondue options, and suggested trying two different cheeses for 2 people, since we had a group of four. The food was delicious, as was the wine that she recommended. We sat outside... More

We ate here because it got good reviews, and the food was alright but not amazing. I had the cod steak with artichoke purée, my friend had the duck breast, and my other friend had the veal. It was a hot evening, we sat outside, and the service was very good. All in all, it was an expensive meal and... More

6 of us had dinner here and were given a lovely round table. It was a scorching hot day when we visited and the temperature in the restaurant was almost overwhelmingly hot. However this was due to the weather outside rather then anything the restaurant did wrong. The food was good and the wine menu vast. We had fondue and... More

We visited here twice during our stay and loved it each time. The food (especially the fondue!) was really tasty, and the set menus are great value. Decent prices on the wine list too. The waiters/waitresses were charming each time, and whilst we couldn't get an outdoor table on one visit, the interior is worth a look anyway!

we were advised to try this place and today we had lunch there. We ate off the 32 Euro menu which looked interesting. My starter was two filo wrapped cheese and apple rolls which were hot and delicious. My main meal was ok but nothing very special, a tournedos of veal with a cheese sauce and mushrooms. However other people... More

This place was very, very cool with great Alpine decor. All the locals we talked to recommended it. The fondue was the real deal, pure cheese (not floury cheese sauce like we see so often in the US), and very tasty. Only caveat was the service--we felt very rushed. Make sure you tell them you want to take it slow!

The food here is incredible, the service is very hospitable and the price is very reasonable. I can't understand why there are so many bad reviews of this place unless you are so damn picky that you need a crease in your ice water. Racelette was superb to say the least as was the onion soup. Stopped by for lunch... More
