As we were staying at Le Morgane Hotel, we decided to try the restaurant downstairs. We were super pleased: from when try too the reservation to when we arrived at the table, from the kindness and professionalism of the maitre d' to the attentive service of the rest of the staff. I have probably had one of the best duck... More

Excellent Michelin star quality! Amuse-bouche, starter, main, desert/cheese and other little tasters such as home made little cakes - all that for only 20 euros if you opt to go there for lunch. This is absolutely amazing as you get more expensive and no where near as good (!!) in many local pubs, cafes and apres-skis. The only thing I... More

So if you're in Chamonix and want to try the Michelin excellende, I would prefer Le Bistrot to Albert 1er. Le Bistrot comes with more favourable price tag, their food tastes better and has overall more zest and style. I loved my Black Angus! Nice waiters, lovely settings and not that exhausting wait for your food. Overall a good level... More

Had the Découverte du bistrot menu we chose the four course option +cheese and dessert, we started with aperitifs a glass of champagne and three nibbles followed by an amuse bouche then our first course started, mackerel then lobster then cod and finally chicken, could not fault any of the food the cod and chicken cooked to perfection. The service... More

The restaurant is a one-star Michelin - and it delivers exactly this: Great food with an innovative touch, good wines and great service. We had the 7-course menu with the wines and cheeses - and overall it was a highly recommendable dinner - which for 2 ended up around 300€ - fine for a Michelin star meal with 7-8 different... More

Our family dinner started with a delicous amuse bouche consisting of a petit four, some goat cheese and an archicoke soup, followed by a cream of peas together with an emulsion of lardo. After these two tasty pre-starters, we had the melon soup which was very good, the herring which was good and a terrin with fois gras, which was... More

We had a wonderful meal here to mark the end of a holiday in Chamonix. The service was superb, only bettered by the food of course. The standard of food was incredible, it is difficult to chose a favourite course as the mackerel, the local fish, the beef, all were amazing.... An extensive and varied wine list allowed us to... Make sure to check out the €20 lunch menu ! It's a steal. You get a fantastic Michelin star meal for a fraction of the cost of the "à la carte" menu. Some tasty "amuse-bouche" before you get your main course and dessert. I recommend going for the cheese trolley instead of the dessert though as the selection is brilliant.

Restaurant is part of a hotel but nothing to comment about table layout or ambience. Service staff were courteous and spoke english. We had the beef and lobster as mains but felt that we tasted better food at other restaurants. For the price point vs food quality, I agree that are other options in Chamonix.

We selected the 3 course menu and it turned out to be 8. Service was excellent and the food beautifully presented. A great place for a celebration.
