Food was good, but for the price not worth it. A bit sterile environment, hotel restaurant. Not sure how this place is rated so well. We have dined at 15-20 spots in Chamonix, some Michelin rated, this was not up to par with most of the other spots in the city. And its on the far end of the town... More

Went to Le Bistrot on saturday the 8th of march 2014. 6 people had tasting menu. Only one of the dishes was ok, the rest was awful! first course was a pumpkin mousse with bits of cured ham, the ham was tough and had a glazed look as it had been lying out in the heat for to long. second... More

If this is a Michelin restaurant you should come to my place! Mediocre food, poor service and boring facilities. Wonder how they got this star.

We booked in here for our Xmas lunch and were duly impressed. The attentive staff looked after our every need and food was nothing short of amazing! If there was one small criticism it would be the decor of the venue - very much a minimalist perspective and a little stark which tends to erode atmosphere from the environment. Well... More

After deciding on Chamonix for our White Christmas destination, we booked Le Bistrot for our Christmas Day dinner months in advance. The food was exceptional - from the amuse bouche through to the homemade marshmallows that accompanied the petit fours. The cheese selection is ridiculously good - I'd estimate there were 30+ cheeses on the trolley they wheel up to... More

For a 1-star Michelin restaurant it is exactly what's expected: good formule, attentive and flexible service ( we had 2 hours for a dinner meal and the service as able to advise exactly the right mix & number of courses - we had the check at 1:50m) cheese selection looked a bit stale, desserts were very good. Nothing extraordinary but... More

informal atmosphere like in the hotel, and focus on quality of dishes, rather than on presentation. our 3 children got a tour in the kitchen, which was very organised and clean (early in the shift). waiters are great, and we loved everything, particularly the amuses. very good value, all spot on.

We were treated with a four course extravaganza. All of the food was amazing. My favorite was the avocado + crab + shrimp dish, it will be in my memory for a very long time. After 4 courses, I was very, very full. I wish I had come hungrier (my fault). The service was impeccable too. I was a little... More

A real treat and a memorable lunch for 19e. The venue seems unpromising from the outside, but the cooking is excellent and the service very good indeed. As previous reviewers have remarked, you get so much more than a set main course and dessert (a choice from the main menu). The staff speak excellent English too (Kevin used to work... More
