Knew this was probably a tourist trap but it was convenient. I just had soup which was okay, but hubbie enjoyed a burger followed by crepes for desert and he thoroughly enjoyed both. The servings were quite large. The menu is a bit ordinary and very geared toward the tourist. Service was okay, prices okay, but for anything more than... More

This restaurant was probably the worst I have ever visited. We waited 15 min to get sitted, the guy who served us seemed unable to speak neither English nor French. He was excessively rude, not only to us but also to other visitors nearby by. The menus were thrown on the table for us ( it is not a joke),... More

We visited twice on our stay and both times they we're understaffed and unable to cope with the amount of people. The first time I thought it was because it was Boxing Day but seems the staff are always over run. The food was ok but we had much better from near by restaurants. The issue was we asked for... The restaurant has a great central location and is in competition with many others. We were greeted cordially and waited on attentively. Drinks were promptly supplied and our food arrived in good time. Good lunch food and generous portions. Just avoid the water offered; expensive.

It's the second time I come for dinner here: the location is extremely convenient and in summer you can also sit outside and do some people watching. Both times the food I had was quite average... the mussels were a bit salty and cooked in a very bland onion broth. My friend's pizza was just plain. Service is kind and... More

We dined here tonight and had a reasonably good experience. We had to ask for water which I thought was a given in every restaurant. The fish soup I had was tasty with small croutons and cheese to add to the soup. The garlic bread was slightly burnt around the edges however it was tasty. The lasagne was also tasty... More

We chose La Potiniere becuase the great location it had. It is on the main street in chamonix center, which is full of shops, cafe and restaurants. We ordered italian menu unless chicken nuggets for the kids. We had vegetables Pizza, Onion soup, Lasagna, Spaghetti and chicken nuggets for the kids. I can rate the food as average, the Lasanga... Average food, service ok not a long wait for food and drinks even though quite busy outside, very similar prices and food as most of the restaurants in the town.

Conveniently located on the Main Street in Chamonix, this outdoor dining establishment serves less than average food. My wife's arrabiatta pizza was one of the poorest tasting she's ever had. My mussels were plentiful but overlooked in a bland broth. There are so many other choices in Chamonix to try. Don't waste your time here.

Group of three enjoyed dinner here last Friday night. We ordered 2 pizzas and a large "salade du marché" to share. With three pints of beer, the bill came to 61 euros which seemed pretty reasonable for Chamonix - and we were stuffed! Service was friendly and the food arrived quickly. Pizzas were well-topped (see photos) and the salad was... More
