Good food & classic place of Chamonix

Great food, authentic French experience, fantastic staff. Go here for sure! Just be careful how much Genepi you order, it can be expensive.

The food was not as good as other places we have been in Chamonix. Our escargot was terrible! It came in a small metal pan with little seasoning and really tasted like the metal of the pan. We could not finish it. Bummer. The fondue was fine. The waitress was less than friendly. Overall, I would recommend choosing La Caleche... More

I was travelling alone so did not get to try many of the excellent looking dishes that require two persons. One night I had the duck which was fantastic and the other night I had a steak (not the filet) which was only fair. The place is very cozy and was quite busy with 2 seatings starting at 7PM.

We were a party of 8 who fortunately came across Le Monchu, with three course meal at 25 euro, with choice of starters and deserts, but good quality beef on lava stone for main. Exceptional service lead by I believe Zaf,or similar. Great ambience, offering and staff.

The food was excellent. We had raclette and they had some of the best raclette cheese I've tasted. Prices are reasonable and service is good. A bit slow, but good.

I visited this charming restaurant as part of a table of ten. We had a reservation but the table wasn't quite read so we grabbed a beer from the bar and waited for about five minutes until we were seated. As I starter I had the snails which were very tasty. For main I had the rossini steak with foie... More
