We went here looking to eat good fondue. It wasn't the best but it was good. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very traditional.

The restaurant was busy, which is always a good sign. We had a traditional french raclette, and it felt like we were having a meal in a genuine french restaurant. This was exactly what we were looking for. We did not go for dessert.

Best hot wine in Chamonix. Very good quality food, big choice of dishes, no wifi, very central! I would definately come back again to eat there.

I always eat at The Monchu every time I come back to Cham. It has an amazing assortment of meat and foundue cheese; you can also try one of their fantastic desserts. The restaurant has a beautifull atmosphere and it's perfect for both romantic or friendship dinner! The staff is always very kind and can understand and speak italian and... More

our concierge recommended this one . For all traditional savoyard dishes , this is the best place in chamonix . The racellete at this restaurant was the best of all restaurants we tried in chamonix . definitely visit this place when in chamonix .

We had an hour to eat before our departure from Chamonix so we popped in to Le Monchu on spec. Staff were friendly and efficient, knowing we were short on time. Excellent cheese fondue and tartiflette - fab chocolate mousse. Nice atmosphere and decor and, unusual for Chamonix, you felt like you were in a real French restaurant. Recommended!

We met up with friends in Chamonix for a short new year ski break. We managed to pre book a table for 16 for New Year's Eve, one of few places not doing an expensive set menu. A table this large is always challenging but they handled it superbly and the food was excellent. Our waitress was very engaging and... More

This is our second visit to Le Monchu. The food was good and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. In particular the staff were helpful and more than happy to enchange a bottle of redwine that didnt really work for us. We will definitely come back in our next visit to Chamonix

We were looking to have dinner and entered the restaurant. we got a table and sat down with menu. When we started to order we asked for advise from the waiter and specifically asked for raclet . Not only that he did not help but also got the order wrong. After an hour and a half I went to the... More

We ate here at the recommendation of the hostess from our lodging. The interior is cozy, our server was friendly and helpful. I chose the prix fixe menu- delicious soup, chicken and then a delicious ice cream selection (nesselrode?). We enjoyed our meal.
