Situated in the picturesque town of Annecy in east central France, Le Bistro du Rhone is a delightful restaurant tucked away from the beaten path. Whilst most tourists flock to city's lakeside cafs and bistros, we recommend booking a table at Le Bistro du Rhone for an authentic French experience. The down-to-earth dining room with warm caramel-coloured walls and rustic wooden chairs feels like a home away from home, and the chef Patrice Cavoret is renowned for her simple and hearty seasonal cuisine. Le Bistro du Rhone offers excellent house wines by the glass, and is well-known for its fresh puddings such as apricot pie.

Dont miss out when you are in beautiful Annecy

Everything was perfect: the restaurant, the welcome, the service, the food ... and the bill. A five minute walk (along the river bank) from the crowded, expensive centre of Annecy, this is a truly wonderful estalishment.

Agree with all the 5star reviews here. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent food, very good sized servings, very friendly and welcoming service and very good value for money. They will serve you in english but also happy to speak french to you (even if your french is very bad!). We even had roquefort ice-cream! Ice-cream AND roquefort together!

I took a chance with this restaurant and booked via e-mail for me and 26 cycling friends. Turned out to be only 150m from our Hotel so a big plus there! The food was sublime and every course was served in a timely and 'caring' manner by the young waitress and owner. They were very attentive and looked after us... More

We found Le Bistro du Rhone via Tripadvisor, and the reviews truly capture the amazing quality of food and service we experienced. The owners personally talked to us throughout the meal, taking a genuine interest in our trip to France, so the service was both professional and warm. Everything on our plate was cooked beautifully, especially the white chocolate and... More

We took the 10 minute walk away from the touristy town centre, but it was well worth it. Dont worry about the outside - a nice meal waits within. The food is well prepared and excellent value. We would certainly go back.

Plates are delicious, well presented, good service. We have been there on many occasions for the past 10 years, also for dinners. The minus is the dining room, very crowded and very bland looking. But the chef owner does a superb job. Great address in Annecy.

Passing through Annecy, my son and I decided to try the Bistro du Rhone. We were so glad that we persisted, when we got slightly lost trying to find it - it is slightly hidden, but well worth the effort to seek out. We ate a delicious seafood soup, with thinly sliced fresh vegetables and shellfish, then a wild boar... More

Stopped for lunch when passing through Annecy. Not overly impressed when glanced at from across the street but the service and food were fantastic. Busy with mixed generations of locals on a Saturday lunchtime, our party of 17 (!) were warmly received and well catered for. Everything was delicious and great value to boot.

Like others, we went after reading the Tripadvisor reviews. It was only a short walk from the old town. We had the cheaper menu of the day, and each course was delicious. The terrine with Foie Gras was a highlight. The service was excellent, and the ambience lovely. The communication prior to the meal was very good, and Sophie and... More

That's "surprising" which Le Bistro du Rhone is in several ways. First, as others have noted, it's in a surprising place - a little court in the middle of small businesses. Second, it has a small patio but fairly large interior space. Third, we were the only anglophones (but they graciously tolerated our French). Fourth, the food is superb. Fifth,... More
