Description: Situated in the picturesque town of Annecy in east central France, Le Bistro du Rhone is a delightful restaurant tucked away from the beaten path. Whilst most tourists flock to city's lakeside cafs and bistros, we recommend booking a table at Le Bistro du Rhone for an authentic French experience. The down-to-earth dining room with warm caramel-coloured walls and rustic wooden chairs feels like a home away from home, and the chef Patrice Cavoret is renowned for her simple and hearty seasonal cuisine. Le Bistro du Rhone offers excellent house wines by the glass, and is well-known for its fresh puddings such as apricot pie.

Stopped for lunch when passing through Annecy. Not overly impressed when glanced at from across the street but the service and food were fantastic. Busy with mixed generations of locals on a Saturday lunchtime, our party of 17 (!) were warmly received and well catered for. Everything was delicious and great value to boot.

Like others, we went after reading the Tripadvisor reviews. It was only a short walk from the old town. We had the cheaper menu of the day, and each course was delicious. The terrine with Foie Gras was a highlight. The service was excellent, and the ambience lovely. The communication prior to the meal was very good, and Sophie and... More

That's "surprising" which Le Bistro du Rhone is in several ways. First, as others have noted, it's in a surprising place - a little court in the middle of small businesses. Second, it has a small patio but fairly large interior space. Third, we were the only anglophones (but they graciously tolerated our French). Fourth, the food is superb. Fifth,... More

This was probably the most enjoyable restaurant experience of our 3 weeks in France, and given the competition, that's saying a lot. It's a quaint, family-run place tucked away in a little commercial court, well away from the crowded, touristy parts of Annecy. Not the easiest place to find, but very much worth the trouble. We had a good feeling... More

Thanks to Tripadvisor we earmarked Le Bistro du Rhone for a family dinner during our recent holiday to Annecy. We booked about a month in advance for Easter Saturday night. We walked quite a bit (aided by Google Maps!!!!!) to find it. Id recommend finding it in advance to save being under pressure and late for your reservation. It is... More

If you go to Annecy I would without a doubt head to this restaurant. The service was good, and the food was delicious. We headed for a three-course meal for 38 euros. Risotto, amazing 'peche du jour' and 'fondant au chocolat'. Great value for money! The food was delicate, and I think I could have eaten everything on the menu.... More

Le Bistro du Rhone is a bit of the beaten track, but not by much. The restaurant is actually only a 10 minute walk from the heart of the old town in Annecy, and it is worth the stroll. I recently went with a fairly large group (23 skiers) at the end of a week-long holiday. We made reservations well... More

First points were scored when we called with apology because we got delayed on our way from Lyon. A wonderful meal waited for us even though we were the last guests of the evening and the kitchen was supposed to close down soon. Snails were my absolute favorite, but other dishes lived up to the expectations as well. It's noisy,... More

We read about this restaurant on trip advisor (it was nr 1 in Annecy at the time) ,and decided to try it out. The friendly lady who welcomed us at the door gave us the last and onlt table that was not reserved, we were lucky, but woud recommend to reserve a table in advance. The restaurant is located a... As noted by previous reviewers this restaurant is not going to win any prizes for its location or surrounding. However the food is lovely, both the meat and the fish dishes were first class and the house wine very nice and good value. Desserts not quite up to the same standards, it feels like they were outsourced in which case... More
