My group had confit du canard - huge portions - and other selections, but the winner was my sis-in-law. She ordered the tasting menu and received 9 tapas sized plates. And all were fantastic. Give them a try. I think the name has changed to Chai [sic] Lila.

Like so many restaurants in St.Remy over the last ten years this place started out with good food and service. Sadly due to the enormous increase in tourism the overall quality has plummeted and the prices rocketed......be very careful in choosing a restaurant in this town as many are simply bad..

While using the laundromat across the road on a monday we found the town very quite given it was after noon. We found Grain de Sel just over the road and went in for a quick bite and a glass of wine. The service was good and we enjoyed sharing a meal over some wine. The decor looked very nice... More

It was our first time visiting St Remy de Provence this June - and Le Grain de Sel restaurant is one of the reasons we will go back to this stunning little village. Even though we turned up late in the evening, we were not hurried or felt under pressure to leave when the restaurant quietened down. Everyone was very... More

This was without a doubt the weirdest meal I have ever had. It was a tasting menu served all at once on one plate. It had pâté, duck egg rolls, foie gras foam, gizzards in an apple and some pasta that was deep fried. None of it was bad, the people were great. It was just weird. Would I go... More

Really enjoyed dinner here on a cool Spring night. The town was quiet owing to it being a Monday. We did a quick search on google and found this cute little restaurant. We had two of the special plates and the monkfish/seafood stew. Both were delicious. The wine was lovely as were the cocktails. Service was pleasant though a little... More

Our hotel recommended Grain de Sel. We liked the restaurant from the outside and expected to have a real good french dinner. We ordered (after we got recommendation) 2 big dishes with all kind of "modern" samples of food , and asked ourselves what happened to the basic good French Cuisine which was expected (at least by us) to be... Went to St Remy for Wed market day. Happened upon this terrific restaurant with great food, amazing decor and very reasonable prices. (10 euro for a big and attractive sald nicoise). Service was very good and very warm. Terrific baguette. They even brought some surprise treats for the table when we first sat down. ( Samething that looked like a... More

We ate at L'Aile ou la Cuisse last night and were blown away. Our hotel referred us to Grain de Sel and we checked out the ratings and it had very good reviews. We were very disappointed. Service was just ok. Our server was awkward and could speak very little English. One positive note... Our wine was great! Food was... More

The big plate concept took us by surprise, saying that most of the items on the plate were more than edible. We found the staff to be very attentive, in fact despite speaking French & telling them this they did keep insisting on explaining everything in English!! We sat inside and the setting was lovely.
