This is not a touristic restaurant. Original french cuisine. We had a perfect dinner for a reasonable price. Good kitchen and good service!

Great ambiance and food. Interesting part of town, away from harbor so less touristy. We are Americans and were given a French menu. When we brought out the dictionary, he immediately brought an English menu--much appreciated. The complementary starter was foie gras, very buttery. We ordered the endive and artichoke salads. Both were very good. We then ordered fish. He...

Excellent food I had asparagus and morrel for staters followed by beef au poivre and very good frites. My wife had the salmon and a fruit salad that was delicious. Decor is warm and interesting. Service is relaxed and efficient Only sour note was the local wine suggested to us that was really not good.
We went there early on a saturday night, without a reservation and were given the last available table. We had the "poëlée de supions" as a starter. Wonderful
Then had "foie de veau aux raisins" as a main. Wonderful
We couldn't resist and try the "baba au rhum" for desert. Wonderful
The wine list was very interesting and not expensive...

If you're in Marseille, run don't walk to Le Julien. What a lovely evening! Perfect ambience. Exquisite food. Fantastic wine. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. And we were the only foreigners. What more could one want.....I wish I could find more restaurants like this.
This place is really nice, albeit located in a street you would not expect for a nice restaurant.
You will find mostly locals there. The food is excellent, the decor reminds a bit like some traditional Parisian "Bresseries". The owners are delicious and really friendly. Ask Bruno (the owner) to suggest a wine according to your meal. He always has...

Away from the Buillebasse tourist trap areas, Le Julien serves great food with great service, and in a relaxing atmosphere. The food is top class. Around 8 choices per course, and we could have happily chosen most. Scallop and Asparagus with morels starters were superb. Duck main courses also good. Extensive wine list was priced keenly, if not lower than...
