Again in Marseille for serious business that required a salve of excellent food in comfortable, calm surroundings….. Le Julien restaurant. This was the Tuesday after Bastille Day [14 July] and the city was dead. A huge hangover or those merchants normally closed on Monday had stayed open for the festivities. It made me worry that we would not find appropriate... More

I read reviews on Trip Advisor, and thought this sounded like a good choice for our only dinner in Marseille. We arrived a bit early, but the waiter opened the door, and then directed us to a great bar down the road for a pre-dinner drink. We had a really lovely meal at Le Julien - we had the Lapin... More

We like to just slip in the front door and into the nearest seats. We did just that last week to get nourishment for courage and the spirit. This is the right restaurant for that special kind of atmosphere, service and food that will elevate your mood and put a smile on your face. As usual, their menu offered something... More

Nice and relaxed place, good food (exceptional foie gras and tartare), good wine selection and kind personnel: I would definitely try again this reataurante

We walked 10 minutes from the Old Port to find a restaurant recommended in Lonely Planet. After comparing the menu, we ended up here instead and we were so happy we did!! We had a wonderful meal, I had an excellent foie gras but my wife ordered a steak frites that were hands-down the best french fries either of us... More

This is a local restaurant, its clientele mostly composed of lawyers and business types. The cuisine is French traditional fare, meaning its good. They have a 22 euro lunch 3 course meal, a great deal I would say, especially compared to the quality of the ingredients. The deserts are equally good, and they have an extensive wine list. Highly recommended... More

As we entered, we were immediately seated amongst the tables-for-two that lined the right wall. Nearly all were filled by business types; folks accustomed to finding the food they needed -- without doubts -- during their lunch hour. At the center of the building is the heart of activity; the cuisine and bar. Beyond are more tables. We were late... More

Me and my wife had lunch at Le Julienne the last day of our trip in Marseille. It was near our hotel, just 10 minutes away from vieux-port, so we decided to give it a try. Friendly atmosphere, good service and good french food. Recommended!

We arrived at the Le Julien without a reservation and were promptly seated, The restaurant is a ten minutes walk from the old port and secluded from the main touristic area. The 'vibe' is definitely French, the service, food and wine advice were perfect. An excellent experience and a place to be recommended.
