Tourist trap !

We've been there 5 people. 4 ordering menus (42 Euros), 1 a la carte. Service was quite bad, the waiters not nice or pleasant. The food was average at best, for the price ridiculously pricey. Some items were ok (Salmon Carpaccio for exemple). Some really bad (Octopus salad for exemple) The... read more

My husband and I had our first dinner in Marseille at this restaurant because of it's location to our hotel. We didn't want to eat at the next door restaurant, Le Miramar, because of the negative reviews on Trip Advisor. What a mistake we made. We paid 100Euro for meals we could not eat. The complimentary tappenade was accompanied by... More

Although one could say it's a typical Marseille restaurant in Vieux-Port - l'Hippocampe has it's individual stylish interior and very nice blue chairs! The bouillabaisse is not cheap but it worth it! I'd recommend the Traditional bouillabaisse (49 Euro per person) - it's really good!!! And you're full with one dish only - just don't forget a jug of local... More

We had dinner here a monday night, a lot of restaurants were closed but this one was open. We had the "saumon carpaccio" as entree and then the "dorade à la placha" with a bottle of white wine. The carpaccio was great and the dorade was also good but the accompaniments were not very tasty (the ratatouille was good but... More

really nice combination of things: good service, smiley people, positive, sitting outside of terrace. Food super fresh, and tasty. Went twice there and both times positive.

This is not the place for bouillabaisse. The price for bouillabaisse is too high. We had to pay for the water whilst all other tables received it for free. I would't recommend it to my friends!

i picked this restaurant out of the many restaurants at the port because it was not too big and i did not regret my choice. Nice service and fresh fish dishes. it's probably not the coolest place around but they serve good price / quality food.

We have been there twice during our holidays. Fishes are from the day and very fresh. Each time perfect and no regret. Whatever we have tested we were delighted from the sea food pastas to the Bouillabaisse plate which is gorgeous. Meal is around 25€ and bouillabaisse plate 40€. Perfect restaurant on the Vieux Port!

Just what we were looking for . We had lunch in a pleasant setting , service was fine and the food most acceptable . The salmon carpaccio we shared for starters was delicious . Then I had steak tartare the tradional version with raw egg and my wife the pasta with clams , both most enjoyable . Would recommend .

My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner at this restaurant towards the end of May. The service was good and the fish soup was excellent in an outdoor setting.
