Located on the pedestrian Boulevard Longchamp, you will find the Longchamp Palace, an Art-Deco bar untouched since the 1930’s.Once a cinema artists den in the 1950’s, Pagnol and Raimu were allegedly spotted having a "pastis" ( local anise-flavoured liqueur and aperitif) in this bar. With its stained-glass windows, sculpted ceilings, zinc bar, listed fresco and its monthly exhibitions, the Longchamp Palace is both an Art-Deco emblem and a friendly place for local businessmen and artists alike. At the bar, the famous “pastis” and the tasty local wines are not to be missed and can be enjoyed cheaply during the “ Palace Happy Hours” from 5 to 8pm.On the food front, the chef offers a list of tasty seasonal dishes which are all homemade with market ingredients. From 7pm onwards, have a go at the selection of cheese and cured meats. From 11am to 4pm on Sundays, a brunch of sweet and savoury dishes is served while old vinyl records of your choice are being played on the phonograph. The Longchamp Palace is open all year round and you can either enjoy your meal inside, next to the fireplace, or outside in the patio according to the season.

The entrances to these gardens are just about as grand and majestical as one could imagine. Like a bad hotel however, it really is all 'up front'. Given that it is a huge monument to celebrate water and the canal connection, a little paddling pool where the kids could dip their feet, would have been nice. Play areas rather uninspiring.... Round tais one on Foursquare. As we didn't stay near the Old port this was very close to our place. Good staff , nice terrace, which you find going trough the bar. Food was good as well.

We came to this bistro by chance - like other reviews, we saw the big crowds outside, but got a table in the courtyard. The staff were run off their feet, but nonetheless were extremely helpful with translating the menu for us, and explaining in detail the different dishes. The food was excellent! A great find

We got the tip to go there from a friend who was living in Marseille for a few years. Without that we would't have pased that restaurant. It is good for just having a drink or later a really good dinner. We went there twice during our stay and I would go there once a week if only I would... More

Don't get driven away by the huge crowd in front of this tiny place! There's more place inside and a small courtyard as well, we had no trouble finding a seat. Even though it is so small, the chef has a huge talent! The menu is chalk-written on a blackboard, very brief, but variety of fish, poultry and meat to... More

We went to this bar to have dinner and drinks. We had nice drinks (beer and cocktails). The food was very good and for a very reasonable price (pork with olive and risotto). Althouigh we were tourists and our French was not that good, we talked to quite a few people from Marseille. Very nice place!

A local friend brought me here and we had a really fun evening in this small, lively, no-frills bar. The drinks are very fairly priced, the cocktails are delicious and generous. The bar ambiance suggests that all Marseille's (genuine) arty types come here and the decor is quirky. The staff are very good looking in a quirky way. Great bar... More

One of the places in Marseille open until 02:00. On my long walk to Cabaret Aleatoire, this was the bar boht for warming up and for late drink. It's a busy bar, so you can see people drinking outside at late hours... Very cheap beer during happy hpurs, friendly bartender who is even friendlier when he realizes that you are... More

nothing to add to what is already written - perhaps underline that you feel welcome even if you are middleaged, in the open atmosphere; afternoon surprise, with a pastis I got toast and tapenade for free wityh my pastis.
