Hidden gem in the heart of Marseille

Stumbled onto this small restaurant a few weeks back (June 2015) and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the sauteed lamb filet w/ almonds, honey, squash and sweet potatoes. For dessert we had coffee macaroon cake. Not one disappointment the entire evening. Wish there was something even remotely... read more

Chose this restaurant using Trip Advisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. My husband, daughter and I were only in Marseille overnight so didn't have time to look around for restaurants but this is one we would have chosen for menu, decor and ambience. My husband and I both chose lamb, cooked to perfection. My daughter's sole was delicious too. I chose... More

I visited with some friends in October and was very impressed. The food was really good service was above average and the price was reasonable. The wine list was very good and well thought out. One of the better ones in Marseille.

Very good restaurant in the port area, almost gourmet style. Not cheap, but in France at all restaurants are not cheap. There are several options for a fixed menu, 2-3 dishes, prices from 27-28-36 euros. We took menus for 27 euros - entree and main course. Everything was delicious, portions are big enough. We liked serving dishes, all very creative... More

We only had enough time in Marseille to have two meals, our morning was a disaster so this restaurant was outstanding in comparison. All in all, most of the food was delicious with a gourmand touch, our mains were very good and fresh but the crab cake which was written about in a few articles were nothing special if not... More

It seems if you don't make a reservation for dinner in Marseille for the good restaurants, you'll be left to venture the streets and see what's left. We stumbled upon this restaurant and as it was recommended by The Guardian, we thought we couldn't really go wrong. For my personal experience I enjoyed parts of my meal - an inventive... More

Le Goût des Choses is definitely worth a visit. The food is excellent, the wine list very good, the place is well decorated and at the same time very cozy. The owner was friendly and efficient, and the dish presentation was very nice. It's not cheap - but no restaurant in France is... - but it's value for money. The... More

Sat on the outside patio both the steak and the pork were excellent, tender and juicy. Vegetable sides were uniquely done in purée and quiche style. Very good would recommend to anyone!

We visited this restaurant because of the many positive reviews and had dinner at 8 pm. Nice ambiente and good service. The food was gerat, the dishes were obviously cooked with love. If the restaurant is well visited, it might be that you have to wait a bit, but our food was served quickly. Price was for france ok, my... More
