Quite innovative, good flavours and very well presented. Friendly, especially important when you're travelling alone. Had the menu at 36EUR, which was excellent value for money.

In a city full of beautiful eateries, this place stood out. The quality of the food was beyond compare, from starters to main course and dessert. The owner was so enthusiastic and welcoming, it was like being invited into somebody's home. We went back for a second evening. Don't be put off by the dodgy looking street just off the... More

In France, it is rare to have a dining room with space between tables providing a sense of privacy. However, it is not as unusual to have a husband-wife team running a lovely little restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. My husband had the menu of the day which started with an appetizer of lightly cooked and marinated salmon... More

Our lunch here was the best meal that we had during a 4 day stay in Marseille(s). We had not booked but were given a warm welcome. The €19 fixed menu at lunch is remarkable value. On the day we visited the 3 course lunch comprised a starter of beignets de lieu , sauce piquante and petite salade de Mesclun,... More

We had lobter over hand made gnocchi and still feel the taste of the meal. The wife also suggested us a very nice local wine. I can't remember the name of desert but it was just delicious. I would definetly go there again and again...

We happened to be staying just up the road at the Vertigo hostel and went here for lunch. We didn't have a reservation and arrived right at 1:30pm when the kitchen was closing for lunch but they kindly seated us. The food was outstanding. My partner had the lunch special which was three courses. I ordered a la carte and... More

An intimate restaurant close to the Vieux Port. A husband and wife team run the restaurant, his cooking is wonderful and she is a delightful host. The staff all seem to speak English and very helpful when explaining dishes. The cost of dinner including wine was not astronomical especially given the quality of the cooking. Important to make a reservation... More

We explored several restaurants in the south of France and we absolutely loved La Table du Fort. We beat the dinner rush by having lunch here and the restaurant was not crowded at all. We selected the three course meal and were wowed by the creativity and flavor of these meals! We knew only minimal French but the hostess provided... More

I booked several weeks in advance and received an email confirmation. When we arrived a very rude woman on the door told us she only had a table for 2 (not the 4 they had confirmed). She suggested we could come back in a few hours and maybe there would be a table. The restaurant was completely empty. Not one... More

Very close to the harbour, but away from the main tourist traps. The decor was contemporary/trendy. The food was thoughtfully-prepared with great attention to detail. Reasonably priced and friendly service.
