My family of 5 (3 children aged 13-16) had a lovely dinner here late last night in the warm open terrace, with Renaud patiently translating the menu and even explaining the history of the food. The variety, taste and presentation of the meals were perfect and at a very reasonable price, as too the wine. Whenever in Marseille again, we... More

A day trip from Aix to Marseille today included a plan to dine at Trattoria Marco, a meal remembered from 2013 the spur - I have a habit of returning to places where I had previous pleasant experiences. Sadly, they were closed today, and so I headed to Vinonen, again a place I had previously visited, in 2012! As noted... More

There is nothing wrong with being average. The menu is varied with the option of half portions of different dishes (small plate concept). The atmosphere is convivial, the wine selection ABOVE average with many by the glass. But the food is average- it is good, even interesting in concept but average in preparation. If you are in the neighborhood- stop... More

Vinoneo is a nice place, winebar style, in the hearth of the vieux port of Marseille, just next to Intercontinental Hotel. The owner is very passionated and he will explain every single dish of the menu. You must try the "Daube de boeuf", meat cooked 3 days as a typical Marseillese food, and the "Crème Brulée au Fois Gras et... More

Right near the intercontinental hotel and the hotel de ville, lies this small charming place. Although the entire menu is in french, the owner knows english very well and explained me about each and every dish and how they make it. I ate the beef with mashed potatos which were simply excellent. The portion was not huge but more than... More

We were there in mid-January with a friend of mine. It's a tiny restaurant with cozy atmosphere and tasteful food. It's indeed not big so be aware and book in advance. The menu is not incredibly rich but you'll easily find what you prefer. Good selection of wines including local (rouge et rose de Provence sont magnifique!). Incredibly nice desserts!... More

I had a solo lunch here on a sunny day in October 2013. It is located right in the centre of the city, close to Vieux Port, but is far enough away so it isn't too swamped with masses of tourists. It has a nice warm ambience, which I found welcoming as a solo female diner. As a restaurant it... More

You can choose in various ways at this restaurant. They have 6-8 main plates and 6-8 demi plates. That gives you the opportunity to have one main plate or perhaps 2 demi plates, but if there are others on your table then you could share a number of demi plates. The food is imaginative and nicely presented. The prices (8-9... More
