We stayed in Valbonne and visited Lou Cigalon having read the glowing reviews by other guests. The chef/owner is obviously passionate about his cooking, and extremely inventive. My starter of scallops and prawns on a bed of mango, pineapple and other 'exotic' fruits was particularly delicious. My husband chose the hot foie gras with tomato and rhubarb layers, also excellent.... More

We visited Lou Cigalon again this evening a full 18 months after our last visit and they did not disappoint. It was wonderful value for money given what we had for the E42 Menu Decoverte (Discovery menu). The food was a complete carnival of flavours - 2 'amuse bouche', three course meal, one dessert 'amuse bouche' and petits fours..despite all... More

We had dinner here last night & it was every bit as good as the reviews suggest. We opted for the 3 course €45 menu which in reality is more like a 7 course taster & very good value! We were given 2 amuse bouch, the fois gras being truly divine & a second mini desert followed by pettit fors.... More

We went for my husband's birthday, loved the food and, with the amuses bouches and pre-dessert, were more than satisfied with the three course menu. Utterly charming hostess (not something you can always say about restaurants in this area...) and reasonably priced wine. Unfortunately, on a Tuesday night the restaurant was only half full and was a bit lacking in... More

We visited this restaurant earlier this week. Our third trip to this restaurant in the past year. It was yet again an amazing experience - faultless in every way and food that looks as good as it tastes. Having eaten at a few Michelin star restaurants in the area we remain confused as to why Lou cigalon hasn't received the... More

Since last time we visited, they gave maestro Thierry two forks in the Michelin Guide. Our only question is; why didn't he get a star. What an evening; the food is artistic in its composition and the taste is as it must be in paradise - if such place ever exist. We are already looking forward to Easter, as that... More

This is a great gastronomic experience with truly quality French classic cuisine and superb wines. Be careful when selecting the wines as the cellar has some fine (expensive!) offerings as well as really excellent good value house wines. I live in Opio and know the place well ...and I can say that neither I nor friends have ever had a... More

My wife and I had lunch here a few weeks ago, and we were delighted with the superb quality of the cuisine. The 3 course table d'hote (plus amuse bouche) was €29 per person; with a good bottle of wine and 2 bottles of water, the bill was over €100, but the value was undoubted, as we received a stunning... For a memorable fine dining experience may we suggest Lou Cigalon! This is a small restaurant, tucked off the main road in the Cote d'azur village called Valbonne. My husbnd had eaten here for business and always raved about the great cuisine. Due to limited number of tables the restaurant is often full, so book well in advance to avoid... More

What a wonderful evening. My husband and I went for dinner last night and struggled to make a decision from the menu as there were too many delicious options. We were pleasantly surprised how flexible the menu was and settled for 3 courses. While we waited for our starters we were presented with a selection of cheeky amuse bouches ;a... More
