Good food in beautiful surroundings

We visited here on recommendation from my Grandmother and had a lovely Lunch. We were sat inside as a thunderstorm was forecast and the room was beautiful. Where can you eat lunch surrounded by Picassos and van Goghs. The food was delicious, we had emailed in advance as my partner is coeliac and... read more

I can't truely analyse why I love this place so much, it is just right in so many ways. It is understated yet classy, chic yet low key. There are of coure the amazing paintings on the walls, sculpture around the pool and the fabulous history of the place. I have two favorite places to stay and eat, this is... More

Reserving months ahead by email, we were given a wonderful table. The setting in Saint Paul de Vence was flawless and once in the restaurant, we were given free reign to look at the beautiful art work. Being able to wander casually in a restaurant, in the presence of such a diverse art collection was a privilege. Our servers were... More

First of all it took uk ages to make reservation there. We spend each summer 3-4 weeks in Cannes and past 3 years we've been trying to get the table in Colombe. First day we arrived I called the restaurant and asked about possibly for next 3 weeks. I was told that until September no table was available but I... More

If you are only staying one night in Saint Paul de Vence, then you absolutely must eat at La Colombe D'or. That you should go for the purposes of soaking up the atmosphere and history of the place (read up before you go or I'm sure you will look somewhat uninformed to the staff and your fellow customers), and to... We were seated for dinner on time and had a lovely table for two outside. The host and all of our servers were gracious and polite and they took time to explain each dish on the menu to us in English. They even accommodated some modifications to one of the starters. The food was delicious; especially the escargot and lobster... More

We had a lovely table on the terrace - well shaded on a very hot day. The service was wonderful -full of theatre. Food was brought to the table and then cut up or, in the case of fish, deboned etc before being served. All very delicious.

As stated the food was amazing, can't fault it. Has been for years. Resturant staff are questionable but that's life. Nothing to make me not what to go back. BUT, and a big BUT... The valet parker was terribly rude. When returning my car, I handed him a generous tip of €15 euros and I didn't even get acknowledged. Not... More

If you don't already know the history of La Colombe d'Or, then stop reading this and visit the history page on their web site. Ready to move on? Ok. So, the art is the star of the show at La Colombe d'Or. You know that, I know that, the owners know that, and the chef probably knows that too. What... More
