Dine happily on a quay for real boats for real people

Super yachts are spectacular at a distance. But if you walk a quay where they are moored, they can be forbidding. It's not just the sheer size of the things. It's also the poker faced Muscle Beach blokes guarding the gang planks. There are no super yachts in the Port de Plaisance at... read more

It's also the poker faced Muscle Beach blokes guarding the gang planks. There are no super yachts in the Port de Plaisance at St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Instead, there are scores of real... More

When you order poulpe sallad and gets industrial cut pieces, the diappointment is total. The entrecote, thin as a leaf. Regretable.

Le Pirate is a good restaurant, with attractively presented tasty food, well seasoned and good sized portions. The 22.5 and 26 euro menus offer a wide selection of dishes - the starters that we enjoyed include salmon tartare, foi gras, squid and smoked salmon all served with salad; the main courses were great, especially the spaghetti with squid, steak, wild... We ate here on Easter Sunday having chosen the restaurant because it had the busiest and best presented terrace of the restaurants along the port. The food was excellent - we had both steak and fish. The wine was also good. We would definitely return.

we went to this place after reading the positive critic in the DK Eyewitness guide. but we were bitterly disappointed. The only positive point about this place was the nice and relaxing view on the marina (although we were constantly disturbed by passing cars!!). We ordered foie gras, one took a burger the other a seabream. The starter was ok... More

A nice spot on St Jean port, very friendly service, not bad cooking as such but the use of poor quality ingredients definitely spoils it. Saving on purchases is a very bad idea in the restaurant business because the heavy workload which is always there can't be appreciated nor rewarded this way.

My friend and I scoped out the entire strip before settling here, not for any particular reason but just because we didn't feel like turning back. I am so glad we did because these were the best salads we've had during our south of France vacation. Prices were reasonable, service was good, and the patio was great. The salads were... More

In early May I dined here with friends. The 3 of us live on Cap Ferrat, and have done so for very many years. My friends eat regularly in this restaurant, having tried most of the others in this small village. We had a good meal from the set menu, and there was a good choice of dishes. The wine... More
