Harbour side dining

Nice freshly cooked seafood meal overlooking the harbour. The waiter did a great job serving all tables by himself but still making the effort to make small talk.. Nice atmosphere.

Directly located at the port we dared the adventure of a pirate' s trip to new gastronomic spheres. Unfortunately we missed it. We ordered Caesars salad with gambas and spaghetti with gambas. Their taste was average, enough to get stuffed! For example the salad sauce tended to be greasy, tasted like mayonnaise and had nothing to do with Caesars salad.... More

Two excellent experiences, the first one as a couple in April 2015 and the second as a group of 14 to celebrate a 90th birthday in early July. Very friendly and attentionate service, excellent Mediterranean cuisine (gazpacho, fish soup, grilled sea bass, gambas risotto for instance) and a truly wonderful strawberry birthday cake which melted in our mouths. For a... More

This is the restaurant my mother-in-law, (a formidable French cook herself) chose for her 90th birthday party. With family from France and the US we wanted everything to be wonderful. From the very start the chef and all the restaurant staff were very positive and willing to accommodate our requests. We had vegetarians in the party and this seafood centered... More

This was not our first visit, and we will be coming back. From a wide variety of dishes and prices we chose the €24 fixed price meals. I had soupe de poissons, calamars à la plancha (lightly fried with garlic and parsley, very Provençal style) and profiteroles. More than enough to eat - and I didn't eat any bread! The... More

Super yachts are spectacular at a distance. But if you walk a quay where they are moored, they can be forbidding. It's not just the sheer size of the things. It's also the poker faced Muscle Beach blokes guarding the gang planks. There are no super yachts in the Port de Plaisance at St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Instead, there are scores of real... More

When you order poulpe sallad and gets industrial cut pieces, the diappointment is total. The entrecote, thin as a leaf. Regretable.

Le Pirate is a good restaurant, with attractively presented tasty food, well seasoned and good sized portions. The 22.5 and 26 euro menus offer a wide selection of dishes - the starters that we enjoyed include salmon tartare, foi gras, squid and smoked salmon all served with salad; the main courses were great, especially the spaghetti with squid, steak, wild... We ate here on Easter Sunday having chosen the restaurant because it had the busiest and best presented terrace of the restaurants along the port. The food was excellent - we had both steak and fish. The wine was also good. We would definitely return.

we went to this place after reading the positive critic in the DK Eyewitness guide. but we were bitterly disappointed. The only positive point about this place was the nice and relaxing view on the marina (although we were constantly disturbed by passing cars!!). We ordered foie gras, one took a burger the other a seabream. The starter was ok... More
