Two Michelin stars well deserved

We had an excellent dinner at Chantecler, choosing the Champagne menu which featured all the signature dishes of the chef, accoumpanied by four different Mumm champagnes. The highlight was the langoustine and Tête de veau starter accompanied by the grand cru Mumm champagne, although the turbot in... read more

Apart from food, everything is 5 star, but Food stands 80% of my review, that is why I can only give 3 stars, food is not as good as I expect in a Michelin restaurant, I have been to far better Michelin restaurant. I took discovery menu, all the courses are ok, but not amazing, flavour dose not stand out.

Le Chantecler a Michelin star restaurant on the french riviera in Nice is an unforgetable experience. At the entrance you are greeted by a bust of King Louise the XIV, escorted like royalty, the best seat overlooking the promenade and above an original oil painting of the french king’s son bearing down on us. It was my wifes birthday, the... More

An expensive yet completely satisfying dining experience. The restaurant is located on the Promenade des Anglais approximately 1km west of Vieux Nice. It is in the opulent and elegant Le Negresco Hotel. Men be sure to dress appropriately - jacket and tie definitely recommended. Reservations are an absolute must and book ahead as there are not many tables within. I... More

The tastes arranged by their award-winning chef were arranged in a perfect way. The blue lobster tempura was one of the best entrees I have ever had and I do not say that lightly. The chef is well-deserving of his two Michelin stars. Service was superb and wine/champagne selection was top notch. The restaurant itself is as classy as it... More

Is it ridiculously expensive? Yes. But it is the best restaurant in Nice and the outstanding food service and ambiance stands against some of the finest restaurants anywhere. This is fine French dining at its best with elegant service. One should not expect typical fast turnover American service that some seem to expect. I agree with one reviewer so said... More

One of the best restaurants in the world..expensive but worth it. A real dining experience, with service that is equal to none.

After spending five wonderful nights in the Negresco I was extremely excited to spend my birthday in Le Chantecler. (On the 20th of May at 8.15pm) Unfortunately I ended up severely disappointed. The meal started off well with a glass of champagne and appetisers. The sommelier then eventually came over to 'help' us with our choice of wine. We decided... More

This is a two star Michelin restaurant . We had reservations at 7:30pm and did not leave until after 10:30. The table is yours for the evening. The service could not have been better and we even had the President's table- a great place to view the room. We did not get the tasting menu, but the wonderful food just... More

The restaurant is an established favourite, and we had kept the occasion to the last evening of our stay in Nice. The food can only be described as superlative, with salubrious surrounds to enhance the senses. Only to be shattered by loud incessant music from a marriage in the adjoining function room. Not even the attentive service could soften the... More
