we had another amazing meal here during our most recent visit to Nice. The ambience is so special & the food, amazing! We enjoyed a plate of cured ham served with the most delicious hazelnut bread then shared a Comte fondue. This was all watered down with a tasty vin naturel chosen by the proprietor. Deeeelish! If you are visiting... More

I have always wanted to try this place when passing it in the evenings, simply because it was always full and had a lovely rustic ambiance. Now that desire finally became true, with a few friends of mine. The Bistro du Fromager is an excellent choice for something authentic, unique, and yet truly French. A lot (but not all) of... More

If you like cheeses this is the restaurant you should go. You can eat all kind of plates based on cheese. Very tasty. This restaurant is very busy. You should book a table in advance.

One of the finest and most interesting wine lists I have ever come across and a great host along with his team. Really enjoyed my evening here this week and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Nice. Great menu, stunning cheeses, incredible wines.

Dinner was my choice tonight and I couldn't pass up an opportunity to delve into "all things cheese" The appetizers have cheese. The entrees have cheese and OMG the desserts!!!! Out waiter had detailed knowledge regarding wine. Sancerre is our favorite and his recommendation was fabulous! My husband had the salmon trout (a cold dish mind you) and I the... More

Good concept around cheese :) the decor is really nice as the tables are set in a cellar. The menu is ok but nothing exceptional... Service is fine but waiters are really fast and pushy (they do not really let you choose your wine... It would be nice if they just gave advices and not force you...) Wine is very... More

I went here on the recommendation of a friend. You go downstairs and it was cute, different. I liked the wine and the fresh bread was great. Would have liked olive oil with it though. The pasta was fresh and cheese was good.

So long as cheese is your thing this is the place to go. In the cellar of the building away from the huslte of the street above, each dish is cheese centred. A good range of reasonable wines and juices. Well worth a visit for something a little different.

We received a recommendation for this place and sought it out in the old part of the city. Looking in the door of the restaurant looks disappointing, but then we were taken down stairs into the centuries old basement cellar. Wow! Really fantastic atmosphere. Wecame early (7:30ish) and were seated right away. We had two servers that spoke good English... More

3 of us went (on good recommendations from friends), shared 2 starters, 2 entrees, and one dessert...and a fabulous red wine! We decided to order and share to enjoy a variety since everything on the menu looked good. The burratta was brilliant! and do not miss the lemon tarte. It's rich and lemony with a killer crust and they finish... More
